Solid black car with dark tinted windows. Body is gorgeous with one bad spot in the bumper where the car was bumped, but nothing serious. Check out the pics to see. Car has the fast 3.0 V6 and 5-spd manual. Power everything, sunroof, and factory alloy wheels. Runs and drives perfectly, but I'll list the good and bad parts before you bid: Bad: Paint chipped on back bumper with a small crease. I imagine someone backed into something and the plastic bumper buckled a bit, but you can hardly tell now unless you look for it. Speedometer doesn't work Sunroof motor is slow and probably going out AC doesn't blow cold (recharge?) Fancy CD/MP3/DVD/GPS stereo has a cracked display but still plays the radio and has a hook-up for an iPhone. All speakers work fine, too. Good: Everything else works (power windows, power seats, power mirrors, etc) Brand new clutch Brand new distributor Brand new battery Brand new seat covers (leather underneath is torn on bottom driver's side) Engine was replaced about two years ago so has less miles than rest of the car Initial non-refundable deposit of $200 due within 24 hours of auction end via Paypal. Mitsubishi celebrates 40 years in UK with Evo festooned with aftermarket bits
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Mitsubishi has an anniversary to celebrate. It has been selling cars in the UK for the last 40 years, and in recognition it is launching the Lancer Evolution X FQ-440 MR special edition with some real performance upgrades from top aftermarket companies. The models will be limited to 40 units in Frost White and priced at £50,000 each.
The special Evo uses a tweaked ECU to boost power to 440 horsepower and 412 pound-feet of torque with a six-speed, twin-clutch Sports Shift Transmission, and the engine receives a long list of augmentations with an intake, intercooler piping and tubular manifold from Janspeed, plus motorsport-specification, high-flow fuel injectors. To keep up with the acceleration, it gets six-piston front brake calipers and upgraded rear brakes behind 18-inch BBS forged alloy wheels. The suspension is lowered by 35 millimeters (1.378 inches) in the front and 30mm (1.181 inches) in the rear with Eibach coil springs.
The interior gets improvements to fit the performance upgrades. Leather-covered Recaro seats are found up front, along with an eight-speaker, Rockford Fosgate audio setup complete with a subwoofer. Navigation is standard with a seven-inch LCD touchscreen. The special edition definitely won't be making it to the US, but it's nice to see Mitsubishi commemorating itself with a performance model. Fiat taps Mitsubishi for European pickup
Wed, 04 Jun 2014Mitsubishi is often derided in the US for its relatively boring lineup, Lancer Evolution aside, but the company is on the upswing worldwide, recently posting record global operating profits. The Japanese automaker may get a further boost in the near future from a rumored pickup truck deal with Fiat.
According to insider sources speaking to Automotive News Europe, Mitsubishi would reportedly build a variant of its widely respected L200 pickup truck for the Fiat Professional brand in Europe and Latin America starting in 2016. The L200 is larger than the Fiat Strada front-wheel-drive pickup already available in those markets, and it's available in rear- and four-wheel-drive configurations. The idea of adding a midsize truck to the commercial lineup was in the Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles five-year plan, but it didn't include any mention of a partnership to build it.
At first blush, the Mitsubishi agreement seems like an odd move, given that Fiat already owns pickup truck specialists Ram. However, according to ANE, the company had at one time planned to use a version of a new Dodge Dakota pickup for duty in Europe and Latin America, but the model never came to fruition.

Wed, 09 Jul 2014Take a listen folks - you're hearing the eventual future of motorsports. This is Greg Tracy and the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution III as they assault the treacherous course at Pikes Peak in just 9:08.188.
This run is significant for a number of reasons. As we recapped in our Pikes Peak finale post, Tracy's run was a mere two seconds off the best overall time at this year's event, snagging him and Mitsubishi second place overall, as well as first in the Electric Modified class and the fourth fastest time ever recorded. Perhaps more importantly, though, Tracy thoroughly trounced the previous EV record at Pikes Peak, beating the legendary Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima's 2013 best of 9:46.530.
