Up for sale is a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis GS. Mechanically its in good condition.

Here are the features:

*Tires were changed last year with the new set of uniroyal tiger paw white walls with 75,000 mile warranty.

*Engine and Transmission are original.

*It has 116,026 miles on it.

*It has brand new iac valve, maf sensor, top and bottom grease fitted ball joints, grease fitted sway bars, fuel filter, pcv valve, intake manifold, driver, passenger and right rear passenger window regulators, radiator, front left and rear right center caps, interstate battery, windshield.

*Transmission fluid and filter just changed with lubegard added as well.

*Oil changed early this year with mobil 1 full synthetic, it will be due for an oil change in 1200 miles.

*Brakes were replaced last year with ceramic pads, rotors were turned as well.

*Interior is in good condition no splits or rips in it, floor mats are in good condition as well. drivers mat is a little more worn then the others.

*Dash is in great condition, no cracks or splits. some light scratches.

*Its been averaging 17-21 mpg combined city/highway driving.

*There are four small dents on the car, two down from the gas tank door is right where the bumper is connect on the left side and two others, one on the left passenger door and on the pillar right next to the other dent on the passenger door. both were there when i purchased the car.

Report: Lincoln getting all of Mercury's ad dollars

Now that the curtain has closed on Mercury, Ford Motor Company will redirect all of its marketing dollars for the oft-overlooked brand to the Blue Oval's luxury outpost, Lincoln. In speaking to Automotive News, the chairman of the Lincoln National Dealer Council, Bob Tasca, Jr., said, "You'll see a lot stronger presence in the advertising of Lincoln in 2011."
Lincoln spokesperson Christian Bokich reminded AN that the automaker is "preparing the way for seven new or significantly refreshed vehicles" that will be launched over the next four years, and the largest ad blitz in 2011 will focus on the refreshed MKX crossover, as well as the MKZ sedan and its hybrid counterpart. Following that, Lincoln has plans to launch a completely overhauled version of its Navigator SUV, an all-new C-segment vehicle and the overhauled 2013 MKZ, which Tasca says will be "strikingly different from its Ford Fusion sibling."

Jill Wagner retired as Mercury spokeswoman

Jill Wagner has officially given up her crown as the queen of Mercury. With the Ford middle child on its way to the scrap heap, Wagner no longer has any automotive hardware to promote. Given her varied talents, we wouldn't be surprised to see her pick up where she left off with another automaker.
And here you thought you'd never be upset about Mercury's passing.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
