1969 Mercedes-benz Sl-class 280sl Pagoda Roadster on 2040-cars
Concho, Arizona, United States
If you have any questions or would like to view the car in person please email me at: roryrccozad@tifosi.net .
Rare 4-speed manual transmission German Euro model with only two owners. I purchased the vehicle from the original
German owners in Sedona, Arizona for my wife as a first wedding anniversary present. I was informed that the
original owners imported the vehicle in 1972 without U.S. conversion. I was told that the couple's main residence
was in Germany, and that they only used the car on occasion when staying at their second home in Sedona. The
vehicle is an all original, unmolested Pagoda with original chrome, and gauges in kilometers. There are 125,333 km
on the car- the equivalent to 79,535 miles. The car has the original windshield with original stickers from Germany
(pictured). Also note that the U.S. license plate is attached on top of the German license plate, so that no
additional holes were drilled into the body of the car (pictured). The original German plate will be provided in
the sale. The vehicle has always been garage stored in Arizona, eliminating rust potential. It has been well
maintained, and has over thirteen pages of service records. The vehicle recently received an entirely new muffler
system and the power steering pump was recently rebuilt. It has a soft top, as well as the well sought after
original hard top (hard top storage stand will be included in sale- pictured). It is extremely difficult to source
an original Pagoda in this condition.

2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 still lights our fire
Wed, 06 Mar 2013The current Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG may be in the autumn of its years, but it's still one of our very favorite sport sedans. Ever. Yes, its paddle-shift transmission may not always follow orders, but with stupendous levels of thrust from its charismatic naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, ebullient rear-wheel-drive dynamics and that noise, we frankly don't care that it's getting on a bit.
As a sendoff of sorts for the current generation, Mercedes-Benz has just introduced a new Edition 507 model at the Geneva Motor Show, with 507 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque - an increase of 56 horses over the standard car. Mercedes credits the substitution of low-mass internals from the SLS AMG gullwing for the power bump, a tactic shared with the AMG Development Package upgrade that has been subsumed by this Edition 507. 0-60 is quoted at 4.1 seconds and top speed at 174 mph.
The Edition 507 borrows its aluminum hood from the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe, along with spidery new 19-inch wheels in either titanium gray finish or matte black with shiny rim flanges. As seen on our gallery car above, a sports striping package is also featured, as are glossy black grille, daytime running lamps, spoiler and mirror caps.
2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class revealed again in 1:18 scale
Fri, 10 May 2013There is plenty to look forward to when it comes to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but it could end up being a fairly anticlimactic reveal thanks to fully exposed spy shots, a leaked press photo and now images of a diecast version of the luxury sedan. Autoweek.nl has images showing a highly detailed 1:18 scale model of the redesigned S-Class that matches up with everything we've seen so far.
This isn't the first time a model car spoiled a new vehicle's reveal, as the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and 2013 SRT Viper were both unceremoniously revealed in toy form first. World Car Fans is reporting that the car 2014 S-Class will be officially unveiled on May 15, but at this point, all that's left to wonder about is the official on-sale date and what will be under the hood.

Wed, 06 Mar 2013Mercedes Makes A Mighty Little Sedan
We got overexcited when the W203 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan came out in 2001, calling it the "Baby Benz" when it really wasn't. We knew that, too, but our enthusiasm for a model more like the old 190 of the '80s was so strong that we were willing to stretch the first-gen C-Class to fit that mold. Today, the C-Class has done what all German premium cars do: grown in size. In this case, grown to satisfy the market intentions of the previous E-Class.
There was the tall A-Class sold from 1998 through 2010, but we never considered that a serious small Benz in the proper spirit, nor was it ever offered in the US. Regardless, we've been craving a smaller, premium, sexy sedan all the while.
