Mercedes-benz 300se 1991 , Low Mileage, Showroom Condition, Rare Opportunity on 2040-cars
Clinton, Connecticut, United States
Up for auction is a stunning 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300SE. This exceptional three owner vehicle has lived a pampered existence. The second owner purchased the car as a Mercedes dealer Starmark Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in 1999 with 49,981 miles on it. I purchased the vehicle from the second owner last year with about 85,000 miles on it. It now has just under 87,000 miles. The car has always been garage kept and only used as a fair weather vehicle. It has what I believe to be the best color combination of black exterior with gray leather interior. The paint has an incredible mirror shine and the interior is as close as you can get to new condition. The leather is soft and supple with no cracks or stains, the wood is like new with no cracks in the finish at all, carpet is like new, dash has no cracks and the instruments all look like new. Even though the car was in excellent condition when I bought it a little over a year ago I had substantial work done to it because I wanted it to not only look like new, I wanted it to drive like new and I am very particular. As a result here is a list of what I have done during my ownership.
1. Complete service including: motor oil change and filter, brake system flush, power steering flush and filter, rear end fluid change, antifreeze fluid change 2. New motor and transmission mounts 3. New ball joints 4. New idler arm 5. New brakes and rotors 6. New shocks 7. New engine shock 8. New tensioner shock 9. New drive shaft flex disc 10. Transmission service that included: new front transmission pump, new cooling hose, new filter, seals, gaskets and dip stick seal 11. New engine crankshaft seal 12. New valve cover gaskets 13. New fuel accumulator 14. New fuel pump check valve 15. New fuel filter 16. New power steering hoses 17. New set of Michelin Primacy tires 18. Four wheel alignment 19. New radiator cap 20. New gas cap 21. New oil level sender 22. New wiper blade set 23. New interior lamp housings and bulbs As a result of all this work, from my viewpoint the car needs absolutely nothing. It looks like new and drives like new. Everything works as it should. There is no differed maintenance that you will have to deal with which is so common when you purchase a used car. It does not leak a drop of anything. If you are looking at this listing then you are probably familiar with this series. This is the last year of the legendary 126 body style. There is nothing like these cars. They were constructed to be solid as a rock and for a large car they handle beautifully. Please feel free to ask any questions about this exceptional vehicle. There are very few of these cars left in this condition. Payment is to be made by a $500 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction close. The balance is due within 7 days of the auction close by wire transfer, cashiers check or cash in person. Payment must clear before car is picked up. If you can not meet these conditions please do not bid. If these conditions are not met by the high bidder the transaction will be cancelled. I reserve the right to end the auction early since car is for sale locally. If you would like to discuss the vehicle and are a serious buyer feel free to call 860-304-1084 |

XCAR marks 20-year anniversary of Senna's passing with Mercedes 190E Cosworth
Thu, 01 May 2014While the automotive world is focusing on the twentieth anniversary of Ayrton Senna's death, there was much, much more to the legendary driver than his untimely passing at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
XCAR has the story of a younger Senna, who, by a stroke of luck, found himself matched up against a veritable dream team of nine Formula One champions, not to mention a cadre of German touring car aces. A "probably still pissed (drunk)" James Hunt, hard-driving Niki Lauda and future champion and rival Alain Prost, were in attendance for the one-off, spec race, which was put on by Mercedes-Benz, in honor of the opening of the Nürburgring's Grand Prix circuit. And Senna was on hand with the explicit goal of besting them all.
Each driver was handed a lightly modified, but brand-new 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth, a car that can best be though of as the distant ancestor of the lovable C63 AMG. As for the race itself, well, it was sort of like an introduction of what the sport could come to expect from the Brazilian.
First official shot of Mercedes S-Class Coupe leaks out
Mon, 10 Feb 2014With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.
First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.
We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.
Mercedes widens luxury sales gap on strong early CLA demand
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Mercedes-Benz CLA sales have been booming, with the Stuttgart-based manufacturer moving 2,300 of the sleek four-doors in its first week on sale. That is astonishing. Mercedes moved nearly twice as many CLAs (which start at $29,900) in one week than Jaguar, a brand that is on a very solid roll, sold in all of September. Ignoring the price differences between the Jag line and the CLA, that is still wildly impressive.
Mercedes has been pushing the CLA in television ads, using a shortened version of its Super Bowl spot, which starred William Dafoe, Usher and Kate Upton. "As the bargain entrance into the Mercedes portfolio, we weren't sure how luxury buyers would react," Kelly Blue Book auto analyst Alec Gutierrez told Bloomberg.
The CLA push was just part of MB's 6.7-percent increase in September sales, which were also helped along by a 17-percent jump in E-Class sales. That surge has allowed Mercedes to widen its 2013 sales lead over its rival, BMW, to 2,491 cars, according to Bloomberg. If CLA sales continue at this rate, we can only expect that margin to grow.
