Up for auction is a 2007 Mercedes Benz S550 in good to very good condition. In addition to the normal luxury that the S550 was supplied with, this vehicle has the AMG Sport package (5 spoke AMG light alloy wheels, AMG Sport Body Styling), the P2A Premium 2 Package (Heated and ventilated front seats, Parktronic, Keyless Go and is equipped for Sirius Satellite), plus the Rear Seat Package (Heated and ventilated Rear seats, Power 8 way adjustable Rear Seats, and 4 Zone Climate Control). It has a back sun screen. When I purchased the vehicle in May 2010, a Mercedes Blue tooth device was installed. This allows a Blue tooth enabled phone to connect to the car's internal system so that calls can be made and received over the indwelling microphone and speakers. I have had no difficulties with it when using a Blackberry device and when using an iPhone. The car has a back-up camera, Navigation and is equipped with Keyless Go. I have two keys for the vehicle. The car has Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that were put on new about 3 months ago and still have more than 90% of their tread left. The fronts are 255/40/R19 100Y and the rears are 275/40/R19 105Y. All scheduled maintenace has been performed in a timely manner.

As for blemishes, the car is a 2007 model and has some paint peeling from only the right front alloy wheel. It has a small chip in the windshield on the driver's side that was filled by the previous owner and has not changed since May 2010. The paint has the normal changes associated with a vehicle of this age, but no major blemishes are present. There are the usual small changes noted with the seats, but no tears or rips of any kind are present. I have included pics of the car as well as of the original spec sheet for this vehicle.

It has not been involved in any major accidents.

Clean title is in hand.

You are welcome to come and inspect the car while the auction is ongoing.

The original MSRP with options was $100,175.00

You will be receiving a lot of vehicle for your money when purchasing this stunning luxury car.

Good luck bidding.

Mercedes Makes A Mighty Little Sedan
We got overexcited when the W203 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan came out in 2001, calling it the "Baby Benz" when it really wasn't. We knew that, too, but our enthusiasm for a model more like the old 190 of the '80s was so strong that we were willing to stretch the first-gen C-Class to fit that mold. Today, the C-Class has done what all German premium cars do: grown in size. In this case, grown to satisfy the market intentions of the previous E-Class.
There was the tall A-Class sold from 1998 through 2010, but we never considered that a serious small Benz in the proper spirit, nor was it ever offered in the US. Regardless, we've been craving a smaller, premium, sexy sedan all the while.

Mercedes-Benz killing Maybach in 2013, replacing with S600 Pullman

Fri, 25 Nov 2011

According to an unnamed Mercedes-Benz source speaking with AutoWeek, the German automaker is killing off its Maybach line in 2013.
The unsurprising news comes after the brand was resurrected in 2002, but failed to meet sales expectations with its two core models, the Maybach 57 and 62. Further solidifying its fate, a deal with Aston Martin to aid in the development of future Maybachs fell through earlier this year.
According to the AutoWeek insider, the plan is to continue to sell both Maybach models through the end of 2013, after which the fifth-generation S-Class will go on sale. When that happens, three new variants of the S-Class will be available, including an all-new, range-topping S600 that brings back the Pullman moniker and may be better suited to competing with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce.

In Which Mercedes' Sprinter Becomes A Long-Distance Sherpa
In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.
As I am about to nod off on my long leg flight from Minneapolis to Anchorage ahead of driving to the Arctic Circle, the friendly twenty-something Alaskan knitting furiously in the seat next to me pauses and says, "When you're driving up there, don't open your windows." In the dead of winter? I hadn't planned on cruising alfresco, but her warning to keep the glazing snugged against the weatherstripping is one I would take to heart. She continues: "If you leave 'em open, a fox is liable to jump right in. There are lots of rabid foxes up there, and they leap into your car and just Go. To. Town." And here I was, thinking that a curious bear or maybe an ill-placed moose in the road was going to be my biggest potential four-legged threat. In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.
