One of the best S320s on the Market! I am the second owner of this 1998 Mercedes-Benz S320 in wonderful condition with only 136,000 miles. Color is classic black with a perfect cream beige interior. This "young classic" has been purchased and always serviced at an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer (all service records available). I have recently spent $4,000.00 rebuilding the front suspension. In the past year or so it has had complete service, new belts and hoses, new belt tension-er, new vacuum pump (all self closures for doors and trunk work as they should), new valve cover gasket, new radiator and new climate control module.  All front oil seals and gaskets have been replaced, new power steering pump and new brake pads and rotors. This car drives and runs as a Mercedes Benz S class should! Although this car is over 15 years old it feels like a new car. When purchasing one of these used keep an eye out for the expensive repairs that could be around the corner. The front suspension, climate control, vacuum systems and other components that made these such wonderful cars either ware out or become inoperable with age - these items have all been replaced to factory specifications by authorized Mercedes Benz service centers. On average to keep this cars in factory specifications run about $2,500.00/year. Many on the market have not had the proper care and could be very expensive to bring back. I am proud to offer my S320 to the next owner knowing it has been cared for in the proper manner. The tires are only a year old with about 3,000 miles, they include a transferable hazard warranty. I am selling this car because my new Mercedes arrived and I only have one garage space. Up until now this car has always been garaged.
Defects/Inoperable items:
1. Right rear view mirror - no longer working, can manually adjust.
2. Sun roof - insulation has fallen from the roof, blocking roof.  Mechanism works fine.  Car interior headliner is perfect.
3. 4 repairable door dings, these do not show up on the pictures.

Maybach could become Mercedes-Benz sub-brand

Wed, 22 Jun 2011

When you're arriving in a twin-turbocharged, twelve-cylinder Maybach limo, there's no reason you should ever have to be late. Except, maybe, to make a fashionable entrance. But up at the corporate level, the entire Maybach brand is being slowed down as critical decisions about its future are being undertaken.
Last week, we reported that a decision on what path Maybach would take going forward would be due at the start of next month, but the latest reports indicate that the timeframe has been extended as further options are being considered.
The previous options under consideration were twofold: either relaunch the brand with production outsourced to Aston Martin - which suddenly finds itself with excess production capacity - or shut it down completely. And those are still two very real options. Word has it that Aston has put together four concept cars for the Daimler brass to consider, all based on the next-generation S-Class platform (and thankfully not the old one).

New details emerge on forthcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC

Sat, 02 Feb 2013

Last we heard, the Mercedes-Benz SLC had been put on indefinite hold, but now Car Magazine is reporting that the Porsche 911-fighting "Baby SLS" coupe could be on sale by 2015. Riding on a modified SLS AMG chassis, the smaller and lighter SLC could be priced in the sub-$100,000 price bracket.
We'd already heard that the new car would feature conventional doors (instead of SLS-like gullwing doors), but this report focuses on some of the possible powertrains Mercedes-Benz is likely to use. At launch, the SLC could offer a pair of V8-powered models - a 485-horsepower SLC and a 585-hp SLC S - both being powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. About a year after launch, a new V6 model could emerge giving the SLC an estimated 333 horsepower and its lowest price point.
It also sounds like the car's name hasn't been completely finalized as some people within Mercedes are favoring a return of the SLR name.

Mercedes-Benz introduces new heavy security M-Class Guard model

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new addition to the company's line of personal security vehicles. The M-Class Guard features bullet-proof side windows made with special laminated glazing and a polycarbonate inner layer to protect occupants from shards of glass. Mercedes says the M-Class Guard meets protection level VR4 according to the Bullet Resistant Vehicles 2009 standards, based on testing from the independent Ulm-based Ballistics Bureau, which means it can withstand .357 Magnum and .44 fire from multiple angles. It can also stand up to the DM51 hand grenade when equipped with optional floor armoring. Why skimp?
Buyers looking for protection from the world's literal slings and arrows can opt for the ML350 BlueTEC with its 258 horsepower 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. With 457 pound-feet of torque, the oil-burner should have no trouble hustling the privileged class about. Of course, the ML500 offers a bit more punch courtesy of a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 with 408 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Prices start at 105,050 euros for the diesel and 118,650 euros for the V8. You can check out the full press release below for more information.
