Selling my uncle's 1994 Mercedes Benz S420. It has been loved and cared for. The family has decided that he is getting too old to drive safely anymore. It has it's share of scraps, dings and scratches. It has low miles for a 1994 with a scant 82,877 original miles. Uncle bought it in 1997 with only 34,300 miles. Over the last 16 years of ownership, he barely put on 50,000 miles. The paint is nice and not clear coat-checked like most other cars of this vintage. The W140 body design is one the most elegant shape of Mercedes for years to come. It still looks modern compared with the cars of today. The interior is nice and clean. The bolsters are not worn, the rear seats look like no one has sat in them. The A/C blows cool but I would recharge it to blow even colder. The chrome wheels are nice and it still rides on Michelin tires. Now, you know that if after all these years, an owner still insist upon Michelin tires for his car that this particular car has been loved. The rear window does have a crack in it from kids playing baseball while it was parked out by his work years ago(see video and photos). It does not affect the drivability as this is purely a cosmetic concern. It does not leak. The dual-paned windows help insulate the driver from outside noise. It rides and drives smooth. The transmission shifts smooth too. I really thought I was driving a newer car the way this gem drives down the road. The lower rear bumper has a scrap(see video and photo). The lower cladding on the driver's side rear door has some scraps(see video and photos). You would be hard-pressed to find a clean W140 chassis for NO RESERVE. That's RIGHT, NO RESERVE. Final bid gets to take this fine gem home. Uncle said to sell it and it will go home to the winning bidder. With all my auctions, a few requirements, First, NO PAYPAL, Second, any and all bidder's with less than 10 feedback and/or negative feedback need to contact me prior to bidding with their full name and contact phone number, no exceptions or your bid will be cancelled and your user id blocked from additional bidding, Third and most important, you are bidding to own, not look and make excuses. Once the auction is completed, you are the new owner. So please, make sure you are bidding to own and not play. Also, selling in AS-IS, Where-Is condition with NO WARRANTIES, Expressed or implied. This is 19 year old vehicle and although in good condition, it is not showroom fresh. With a big drumroll on this fine 1994 Mercedes-Benz, S420, let the auction begin. If you cannot wait until the end of the auction, please feel free to email me for a buy it now price. Vehicle is also advertised locally and seller reserves right to end auction early and cancel all bids.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class interior caught in spy shots

Tue, 29 Jan 2013

With the redesigned 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class getting closer to production, the camera-wielding crew over at Autospies somehow managed to get inside of the car to snap some detailed spy shots. As the prototypes continue to shed camouflage, it would appear that Mercedes-Benz is getting closer to unveiling the car, and with the Geneva and New York auto shows coming up, it could be sooner rather than later.
From what we can see of this car's interior, the overall look of the S-Class' cabin isn't a ground-breaking departure from the current car, but it has been completely redesigned with more advanced technology. The styling is now even more upscale with larger swaths of wood, more shapely door panels (without the built-in armrest cubbies) and the concept-like two-spoke steering wheel. The highlight of this car though is probably the two massive digital screens with one being used for driver information and the other used for navigation, audio and infotainment systems. One other detail we noticed about this car is that it was equipped with the new 360-degree camera that debuted on the new GL-Class and will also be used on the 2014 E-Class. We also know that the next-gen S-Class will be getting the new cloud-based MBrace2 infotainment system.
As for the exterior design, it looks like the next S-Class will carry a similar profile as the current car, but we can see through the camouflage that the new styling will fit in better with current Mercedes-Benz products. Up front, the grille is much larger is flanked by aggressive LED-trimmed headlights, while the rear view of the car shows us the LED brake light now at the top of the rear window, a more pointed trunk opening and a more squared-off rear fascia with exhaust outlets pushed to the corners.

Mercedes testing C-Class plug-in hybrid modes in Germany

Wed, 07 May 2014

Testing appears to be underway for what would be the first Mercedes-Benz C-Class with a hybrid powertrain. We can see a pair of the prototypes undergoing testing in Germany, with one, a C-Class Wagon, still heavily clad in camouflage and featuring a more noticeable outlet on the passenger side of its rear bumper.
There's also a more production-looking sedan, which features a not-so-discreet flap over its rear-bumper outlet. It's difficult to speculate on power outputs for this fuel-sipping C-Class, although our spies seem to think that this car will feature some combination of a four-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor, although just which four is unclear (note, we wouldn't mind if MB fit its 2.0-liter turbo with some batteries and motors). Regardless, the four-pot/electric motor seems like a pretty reasonable combo, although it probably means that Mercedes won't be challenging the six-cylinder-powered system of the BMW ActiveHybrid3 any time soon.
When the plug-in C-Class arrives later this year as a 2015 model, it will likely offer a full range of driving modes, including both gas or electric, only, as well as a more traditional hybrid mode.

Mercedes releases 6x6 G63 AMG specs and pics [w/video]

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Mercedes-Benz has finally dropped full details on its insane G63 AMG 6x6. The machine puts 544 horsepower to all six wheels thanks to a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8. A seven-speed gearbox shuttles power to the ground via three sets of portal axles, which helps give this machine a full 15.75 inches of ground clearance. By comparison, the standard G63 AMG sits with just 8.27 inches of ground clearance. The extra lift allows this 6x6 to ford nearly 40 inches of water and run massive 37-inch tires. All told, there are five differential locks on this thing, all controlled by a special "locking logic" that provides the best traction possible for any given situation.
The controls offer up three stages of locking, which we can only assume range from JKLOL to OMGWTF. Right now, AMG says this monstrosity is only a show vehicle, but we imagine it wouldn't take much to convince the team to whip up one of your very own. Check out our full gallery and the press release below for all the nitty gritty. While you're down there, you can also check out the video on the machine one more time.
