1991 Mercedes Benz 560sec - California Car - Black On Black - 560 Sec Last Year on 2040-cars
Carlsbad, California, United States
You are looking at a beautiful 1991 560SEC that I purchased in Del Mar, California. It has lived in Del Mar and been serviced in Carlsbad, CA it's entire life.
Last model year 1991, black with black leather interior. I have the manuals and service history including stamps from Mercedes in Carlsbad from its birth. I purchased this car last year to add to my collection and join my 1968 280se. However, I am moving to Chicago for a new job in 2 weeks and I regretfully have to sell the 560 as I cannot take two cars with me. It is a joy to drive and feels so grand, I love it. I searched for months to find this one, its the right year (with dual airbags) and the right color (black on black) I had a pre-purchase inspection done by my long time Mercedes indy and it checked out great, I have paperwork to verify this also. Compression test was performed on all cylinders with no issues. Everything works except for the cruise control, I have sourced new cruise circuit boards for around $200 that I can direct you to. Presents beautifully, I so wish I did not have to sell it. On Feb-12-14 at 21:38:28 PST, seller added the following information: Also to note when considering this vehicle; On Feb-12-14 at 21:51:08 PST, seller added the following information: AC works |

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class caught totally undisguised
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Based on the lightly camouflaged spy shots of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class we've seen lately, it hasn't taken a vivid imagination to picture what the next iteration of this big luxury sedan will look like. Even so, we now we have our first unobstructed views of the redesigned S-Class, codenamed W222, as it has just been caught out flaunting for some promo shots.
The first thing we notice about the new S-Class design is the disappearance of the last generation's flared wheel arches. Yet the new design adds even more character with bodyside creases similar to the CLS-Class and some elements reminiscent of 2007's F700 Concept, including the massive grille and vertical LED taillights. Other key details include a large panoramic roof and the narrow exhaust outlets, but the large LED-trimmed headlights and the aggressive front fascia are probably the biggest departure from the current design. With these spy shots, we also catch a blurry shot of the interior, but we've seen a practically uncovered look at the new S-Class' cabin back in January.
Overall, the next S-Class sports an expressive and premium new look, but as far as all-new designs go, it's quite conservative - a move no doubt fitting for these lean financial times.
Carlsson turns Mercedes-Benz SLK into 610-HP hill-climb clawer
Mon, 28 Jan 2013Carlsson's race-tuned versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLK have been taking checkered flags for years, and we won't be surprised if its SLK 340 hill climber fares any different. Developed by multiple German and Swiss hill climb champion Reto Meisel, the carbon-bodied SLK 340 with lightweight brakes and a closed underbody weighs 1,716 pounds. Propelling that tiny bit of weight is a 3.4-liter V8 from Judd with 610 horsepower, and it rolls on 18-inch wheels shod in Avon tires.
It will debut at the Geneva Motor Show before beginning its racing campaigns in the summer. This one won't just tear up roads in Europe, though - Meisel says he plans on bringing it to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The press release below has more details.
Maybach and Aston Martin alliance talks fall apart
Tue, 27 Sep 2011If you have, like us, been salivating at the notion of a new generation of Maybach and Lagonda ultra-luxury crafts built by Aston Martin, we've got some bad news: According to reports emanating from Germany, talks between AML and Daimler have broken down.
The proposal under negotiation would have seen Daimler outsourcing production of the next family of Maybach models to Aston Martin, which in return would benefit from Mercedes-Benz platforms and engines - not only for its svelte GTs, but also for its own future Lagonda line of limousines and luxury SUVs. That, and a boatload of money - or at least that's what AML was reportedly seeking, an issue that served as the stumbling block over which the deal reportedly collapsed.
That's not to say the two parties couldn't still reach some sort of a compromise, but short of that, Daimler may opt to either shut down Maybach altogether, find another partner, or take another stab at building new models internally.
