Loveland, Colorado, United States

For sale, my beautiful Mercedes-Benz 280SE. THIS CAR IS MORE RARE THAN ANY 6.9!!!!! What makes the car super rare and unique is the no leather, no A/C no sunroof with the 4 speed manual transmission from the factory, original AMG dam, and original AMG wheels and original factory tow package!!!!  Paint is in 100% no visible damage, shines more than any new Mercedes.(original paint) I owned the car for the past few years, and brought it over from Europe about a year ago. Previously the car was owned by my childhood friend for 23 years (since1991)!!!!
Just like me, my friend is a hard core car enthusiast who took unbelievable care of the car and only used it as a show car and a weekend cruiser for the first 15 years while he was improving the car year to year.  During the first 15 years of ownership he was only putting about 1000 miles a year. The last 6 years of his ownership the car was parked in his heated garage. A few years ago he decided to sell, and I was not hesitant for a minute I took the car from his hands. I left the car at his garage up until last May when we started the importation process. Car is here now for a year, all paperwork is done and has a clean Colorado title. I drove the car from NJ to Colorado with no problem and I would do it again with no hesitation.
Before the cross country trip from NJ to CO we prepared the car with engine flush, new synthetic oil, new front brake rotors, new pads, trans flush, new spark plugs, new plug wires, coolant flush, new thermostat, new antifreeze, gas tank flush etc.... and car was running as a champ all the way to Loveland CO. However the rear coil spings has to be changed as they started to sag a bit, also the aftermarket radio drains the battery after 10-12days. (has original radio). The car is EPA exempt in the whole USA, however only Northern Colorado (not the whole state but the northern region) wants the car clear CO2 emission regulation. First time I took the car for testing it failed the co2 test. Since then I had all the injector heads replaced and since that I had no time to take it back to the inspection station. If anything the k-jet system needs some attention if car stays in northern CO, otherwise car is good to go.  All 6 cylinder has same compression of 165psi and she runs PERFECTLY fine with no problems. If interested please call me with any questions. Adrian 808 628 0523

Watch Schumacher's hot lap of N"urburgring in Mercedes F1 car

Fri, 31 May 2013

In advance of the Nürburgring 24-hour race last weekend, Mercedes-Benz put on a demonstration that had Michael Schumacher playing catch-up in a Formula One car against four examples of AMG metal. There were four cars sent off in staggered starts before Schumacher: an A45 AMG, E63 AMG 4Matic, SLS AMG Black Series, and an SLS AMG GT3 car. "Mr. Formula One," as the German television commentators call him, left three minutes after the SLS AMG GT3.
There are two videos of Schumacher's lap, the first is on-board footage - and even though there were several GoPros on the car the POV never cuts away from the front wing. You can hear the throttle and tell he's not pushing it, you can also tell how bumpy the track is. The second video is footage from the German Sport1 channel - with commentary in German - that shows all the cars taking off and takes the aerial view of proceedings. He looks to be going a lot faster in that one. You can compare and contrast yourself with the videos below.
Oh, and it's worth noting that, even with the likely restricted car, and the made-for-TV environment, Schumi turned in a quick lap. The nose camera shows the F1 car start to slow down on the back straight, near the start/finish line, right around the modern-length track record time of six minutes and eleven seconds.

Paul di Resta returns to DTM with Mercedes

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Some drivers manage to make the transition from one form of motor racing into another, and some run into trouble. Take Paul di Resta, for example. The promising young Scottish driver dominated Formula 3 racing in Europe in 2006, then moved over to Germany's hugely competitive DTM touring car series where he finished second in 2008, third in 2009 and first in 2010. But things didn't go as smoothly for Paul - cousin to retired Indy champion Dario Franchitti - when he moved in to Formula One with the Force India team.
In three years on the grid, he failed to score a single podium finish. Little surprise, then, that Force India opted not to renew his contract for this season. Left without a ride, di Resta is now going back to DTM with longtime supporter Mercedes-Benz, testing the new C-Class touring car today in Portugal. It's good news for Mercedes, which is celebrating 120 years in motor racing this season and, with 2005 champion Gary Paffett also on board, can now count two former champions on its DTM roster.
We wouldn't count Paul out of F1 for good, though. When he won the DTM title four years ago, he was also moonlighting as Force India's test driver, and we wouldn't be surprised to see him pull similar double-duty with the Mercedes F1 team (or another Benz-powered outfit) this year before spring-boarding back into grand prix racing in the future. At 27 years old, he may not have been the youngest driver on the grid this year, but he's still got a good few years ahead of him.

Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.
