Very nice car, very clean. Very fast. Engine runs and starts with no problems, lots of power. Transmission shifts well, was just service. No check engine, or other, warning lights or problems.
I am a former professional mechanic and have done a lot of maintenance items since I bought the car. Second Owner. Purchased in Charlotte 2 summers ago. 120K service was just performed. 105K service was performed when I bought the car. New motor mounts. Transmission contact plate and transmission service. New supercharger bearing. New tires and tire pressure sensors one year ago. No dings in the body, a few minor scratches. Tires are in very good condition, wheels have some very minor, normal wear and tear. Headlights were just buffed out (some oxidation). Very minor parking lot scuff on the rear bumper cover. Completely stock except for K&N air filters. Interior looks like new.

Piloting an 8,500-pound motorized house down the highway is far from my idea of fun, yet inexplicably, I'm enjoying myself. My grin has nothing to do with my camper's handling, as this heavily accoutered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter drives like a 25-foot long breadbox. My smile has nothing to do with on-road stability, as the ten-foot-tall, slab-sided vehicle reacts to wind gusts like the vertical stabilizer on a Boeing jet. My delight has nothing to do with its throttle or braking response, either, as both are as numb as your forehead after the eighth beer.
This monstrosity makes me happy for one reason - my passengers are undeniably having a good time.
Mercedes S-Class Magic Body Control ad is clucking awesome
Tue, 24 Sep 2013This is a new ad from Mercedes-Benz. At no point does it show an automobile. Instead, it stars animals, but not the sort you might normally see in car commercial. This ad is all about chickens. It is bizarre, to say the least, with Diana Ross and the Supremes belting it out in the background, but it all kind of comes together when you realize just what Mercedes is hawking (yeah, pun intended).
It's for the manufacturer's Magic Body Control, found on the new S-Class. The system basically analyzes the road and prepares the suspension accordingly, leading to a ride that is, in the words of our own Chris Paukert "nothing short of spooky."
