CLK 430 CONVERTIBLE.  WAS WANTING TO KEEP THIS ONE AND ENJOY IT MYSELF, BUT I AM JUST NOT GETTING THE TIME TO PLAY WITH IT & DON'T WANT TO HAVE IT JUST SIT. SO IT'S TIME TO FIND IT A NEW HOME. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL CAR THAT NEEDS A LITTLE MISC. TLC. MOSTLY SIMPLE COSMETIC TYPE STUFF. BUT IS A LOT OF FUN TO DRIVE. OVERALL A NICE & CLEAN CAR. DRIVE TRAIN IN VERY NICE SHAPE. THE V8 ENGINE RUNS SMOOTH & QUIET.  SMOOTH & PEPPY! THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GREAT TOO. SOLID SHIFTS WITH NO SLIPPING.  THE FRONT END, GRILL, FRONT BUMPER, LIGHTS, ETC. ARE ALL VERY NICE! STRAIGHT & CLEAN!  PAINT IS SHOWING IT'S AGE.
IT HAS SOME SMALL CHIPS & BLEMS HERE & THERE, IF YOU WANT IT PRISTINE, YOU WILL WANT TO REPAINT IT. BUT OVERALL THE PAINT JOB LOOKS NICE FOR A DAILY DRIVER & GETS COMPLIMENTS WHEREVER IT GOES. MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT HAS NO RUST PROBLEMS AT ALL! NONE. LIKE MOST OF OUR CARS, WE HAVE HAD THIS CAR UP ON A HOIST & LOOKED IT OVER THOROUGHLY & IT IS COMPLETELY SOLID THROUGHOUT. WINDOWS ALL GO DOWN NICELY, BUT NOT SURE WHAT WE ARE DOING ...OR NOT DOING TO OPERATE IT? THE HYDRAULICS ALL LOOK GOOD. BUT IN CASE IT NEEDS A SWITCH OR SOMETHING REPLACED, WE ARE POSTING IT WITH A VERY REASONABLE MINIMUM RESERVE. YouTube's Super Bowl commercial buzz list dominated by automakers [w/videos]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013After Sunday's big game, YouTube will be the place to watch every commercial that you missed when you left your seat for an emergency guac refill or, as we say in Cleveland, took the Browns to the Super Bowl. That makes YouTube the nation's water cooler on Monday, and it's got some preliminary stats to share in the lead up to kickoff.
As you know, Super Bowl advertisers, particularly automakers, like to endlessly tease their big budget commercials in the weeks before the game, many times revealing them outright days in advance. Because of this, YouTube can tell us which commercials have been viewed the most so far, and their top five list is all automakers.
Kaley Cuoco appears to have been a good investment for Toyota, as her ad for the RAV4 has garnered the most YouTube views - six million and counting - among Super Bowl commercials so far. Second place goes to Mercedes-Benz, though not its actual Super Bowl commercial, but rather the teaser for it. You know, the one with Kate Upton and the car washing, which is up to 5.6 million views. Third place is Audi's Prom commercial (3.3M views), fourth goes to Volkswagen's slightly controversial Get In, Get Happy ad (3.3M views), and the fifth and final spot is bookended by the teaser video for Kaley Cuoco's commercial (3.2M views). Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG formalize technical partnership
Thu, 19 Dec 2013The development of a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin has been a long time coming. The news dates back to 2008, and over the five years since was supposed to lead to a rejuvenation of both the Maybach and Lagonda brands. That program ultimately fell apart, but the tie-in was forged afresh in July when the two automakers signed a letter of intent over a renewed partnership. And now that partnership has been formalized.
In a deal just announced, Mercedes-AMG will build a new V8 engine for Aston Martin that will power a new generation of luxury GTs for the British marque, presumably to replace the 4.7-liter V8 in the Vantage. The relationship appears to be similar to the one already in place between AMG and Pagani, only in this case, will involve Daimler taking as much as a five-percent stake in Aston Martin and an observer seat on Aston's board.
The technical partnership is also set to lead to the supply of electric and electronic systems, and could incorporate "additional areas of cooperation in the future." Whether that will include a fresh attempt at reviving Lagonda remains to be seen, as does the future of Aston's long-serving, Ford-based 6.0-liter V12 engine. Mercedes-AMG teases GT interior, announces fall 2014 debut
Tue, 15 Apr 2014Mercedes-Benz opted to tease the assembled media at its post-New York Auto Show party, showing off a pair of images of the exquisitely crafted interior of the highly anticipated successor of the SLS AMG - the V8-powered Mercedes-AMG GT.
Slated for a debut in the fall at either Paris or Los Angeles (we're betting Paris), you'll note straight away that there's something wrong with this car's name. Where's the "Benz?" Well, it's been ditched to, as Mercedes says, "make the dream of the authentic Mercedes-AMG sports car come true." Sorry Karl.
"The new Mercedes-AMG GT proves that we will be positioning AMG as a dynamic sports car brand even more strongly and aggressively than before," said Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG.
