Engine is very strong and sounds great. Engine isn't pulling any codes for any sort of work that need to be completed.

Recent Work:
-New Battery
-New Windshield (OEM)
-New Transmission contact plate (OEM)
-Recent detail and carpets cleaned
- 4 New O2 Sensors

Things that need to be completed:

- Car came with the option of Adaptive Suspension which is a common failure on W140 series Mercedes. Recommended to be replaced with non ADS suspension such as Bilstein shocks at all 4 corners. Estimated cost for parts - $550

-Transmission solenoid needs to be replaced ($50 at the dealer), which involves dropping the transmission oil pan and replacing solenoid in the new contact plate that was just put in 3 days ago. This issue is causing the car to start in 2nd gear, will shift to 3rd, but will not shift into 4th. Easy job for the mechanically inclined.

- Sunroof railing needs to be serviced / oiled.

- Rear sunshade needs service

- Trim piece around rear view mirror needs to be replaced. ($20 part)

- Front seats are worn and either need to be replaced or nice sheepskin covers to go over them. Center armrest needs to be replaced / repaired.

- Front grille needs to be either repaired or replaced.

- Front bumper cover is cracked at both corners. Needs to be repaired.

- Passenger side fog light is cracked.

- Paint on the side view mirrors has the clear coat cracking. (see photo)

- Rear Antenna needs to be replaced.

- One rear headrest motor needs to be repaired.

I am selling the car because I do not have the time to invest. No surprises with this car - all issues have been listed. Would be a great buy for a mechanic or someone that likes to work on cars.

2017 Aston Marin Lagonda could live on Mercedes M-Class platform

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

A few weeks ago, we brought you news from the launch of the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante that the British brand, which is formally known as Aston Martin Lagonda, was still planning on going ahead with a Lagonda-badged crossover. Now comes word that that vehicle could very well be based on a Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
When the first Lagonda Concept debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, it sat on a Mercedes-Benz GL-Class platform, some four years before Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG deal was inked. And with that partnership, which will see Aston Martin gain access to AMG electrics and "bespoke, V8 powertrains," the opportunities for platform sharing are many.
Dr. Ulrich Bez, the boss of Aston Martin, told the UK's AutoCar, "I look at what Porsche is doing with the 911 as its core business and then it is able to do models like the Cayenne based on the Volkswagen Touareg. It is good business." We've said many times that we'll tolerate exotic CUVs and SUVs if it means keeping the beloved core models alive, which has been the case with Porsche. We see no reason Aston Martin wouldn't be able to do the same.

Mercedes A45 AMG in downhill battle with slipstream skateboarder

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

We're told it takes "performance, control and expression" to pilot a longboard skateboard down a mountain road, and that those happen to be the same values embodied in the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG. That's how the two came to be combined in a black-and-white short film called Silver Slipstream.
There's no talking, no engine note and no color, just some music, a 'boarder and a car on a long cruise down the Franschhoek Pass in the Western Cape of South Africa." Despite that, it's actually a pretty entertaining video of the latest Mercedes-Benz hot hatch married with extreme sports. You can watch how it all goes down in the video below.

Mercedes-Benz introduces new heavy security M-Class Guard model

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new addition to the company's line of personal security vehicles. The M-Class Guard features bullet-proof side windows made with special laminated glazing and a polycarbonate inner layer to protect occupants from shards of glass. Mercedes says the M-Class Guard meets protection level VR4 according to the Bullet Resistant Vehicles 2009 standards, based on testing from the independent Ulm-based Ballistics Bureau, which means it can withstand .357 Magnum and .44 fire from multiple angles. It can also stand up to the DM51 hand grenade when equipped with optional floor armoring. Why skimp?
Buyers looking for protection from the world's literal slings and arrows can opt for the ML350 BlueTEC with its 258 horsepower 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. With 457 pound-feet of torque, the oil-burner should have no trouble hustling the privileged class about. Of course, the ML500 offers a bit more punch courtesy of a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 with 408 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Prices start at 105,050 euros for the diesel and 118,650 euros for the V8. You can check out the full press release below for more information.
