Having a crappy day...Ten minutes behind the wheel of this and you will forget  all about it.

With mixed feelings I must sell what has been the most incredibly engaging automobile I have ever owned. I have owned a few AMG cars in my day but I must say that for pure driving performance, this car can not be beat and it does not beat you up in the process. The AMG seating in this car is incredibly supportive and comfortable and the car handles like no other. It is an absolute pleasure to drive, and I am talking about just tooling around town. This car makes simple errands a real treat, but get it out on a country road and you are in for the most fun you have ever had on four wheels. Please don't get the wrong impression though, this car has never been tracked or abused in any way. I have always driven it with great respect for the incredible machine that it is. With less then 15000 miles on the clock it is barley broken in.
I have maintained this car meticulously at my local Mercedes dealer with only one AMG mechanic authorized to work on it. He is the best and the only one that works on my cars. I just had four new tires installed and a complete B service done ahead of the mileage schedule. It has the remainder of the full bumper to bumper factory warranty until June of 20013, PLUS one full year CPO warranty on top of that up in June of 20014 and up to 100000 miles. This car needs nothing and is in incredible condition and performs flawlessly. You will not be disappointed!

Options and features included but not limited to:

6.3 litre 451 hp V8,  7 Speed automatic, Three traction control settings, Power tilt leather wrapped steering wheel with Paddle ShiftersLeather driver and passenger full power heated memory seating with power lumbar and bolsters, Harmon Kardon 450 watt Logic 7 surround sound with sub and 6 disc with hard drive, Bluetooth capable, Voice activated phone inegration,  MP3 integration, Navigation, Power rear sun shade,  Power vented sunroof and shade, Custom window tint on doors and rear glass, and like new original AMG logo floor mats.

Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.

Ecclestone wonders if F1's upcoming turbo V6s should get augmented sound [w/videos]

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

While every team on the Formula One grid is worried about making a good showing in this year's championship at the same time as they develop a brand-new car for next year's championship, Bernie Ecclestone and F1 circuit promoters have a different concern: how next year's cars will sound. The current cars use 2.4-liter, naturally-aspirated V8s that can reach 18,000 revolutions per minute and employ dual exhaust, next year's engine formula calls for 1.4-liter turbocharged V6s that are capped at 15,000 rpm and are constrained to a single exhaust outlet. Ecclestone and promoters like Ron Walker believe the new engines sound like lawnmowers and that the less thrilling audio will keep people from coming to races. If Walker's Australian Grand Prix really is shelling out almost $57 million to hold the race, every ticket counts. As a fix, according to a report in Autoweek, Ecclestone "suggests that the only way to guarantee [a good sound] may be to artificially adjust the tone of the V6s."
However, neither the manufacturers nor the governing body of F1, the FIA, think there will be a problem. Ecclestone fears that if the manufacturers "don't get it right" they'll simply leave the sport, but the only three carmakers and engine builders left next year, Renault (its 2014 "power unit" is pictured), Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari are so embedded that it would stretch belief to think they'd leave the table over an audio hiccup - if said hiccup even occurs. And frankly, these issues always precede changes to engine formulas, as they did when the formula switched from V10 to V8; fans, though, are probably less focused on the engines and more on the mandated standardization of the sport and the spec-series overtones that have come with it.
No one knows yet what next year's engines will sound like, but we've assembled a few videos below to help us all start guessing. The first is an engine check on an Eighties-era John Player Special Renault with a 1.5-liter V6 turbo, after that is Ayrton Senna qualifying in 1986 in the Lotus 98T that also had a 1.5-liter V6 turbo, then you'll find a short with a manufactured range of potential V6 engine notes, and then the sound of turbocharged V6 Indycars testing last year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Any, or none of them, could be Formula One's future.

Mercedes A45 AMG in downhill battle with slipstream skateboarder

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

We're told it takes "performance, control and expression" to pilot a longboard skateboard down a mountain road, and that those happen to be the same values embodied in the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG. That's how the two came to be combined in a black-and-white short film called Silver Slipstream.
There's no talking, no engine note and no color, just some music, a 'boarder and a car on a long cruise down the Franschhoek Pass in the Western Cape of South Africa." Despite that, it's actually a pretty entertaining video of the latest Mercedes-Benz hot hatch married with extreme sports. You can watch how it all goes down in the video below.
