1985 Mercedes 500sel Lorinser Body Kit Springs Bbs Wheels European Model Not Amg on 2040-cars

Hello, you are viewing my 1985 Mercedes  European version with a Lorinser ground effects and Lorinser springs, and real BBS wheels. Only 129017 well cared for miles. This Mercedes is in wonderful condition.  *****THIS IS A 1985 500sel, EBAY WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE THE EURO VIN UNLESS IT WAS OLDER THAN 1980******

The paint is in very good condition (could use a detail/buff to remove some light haze spots from leaf stains in the paint). There are some small scratches and imperfections, over all very solid and presentable.

The leather interior is in excellent condition with no rips or tears (covered most of its life with sheep skin covers). The dash, wood, door panels, headliner and carpets are all in very good condition (also comes with the rear factory foot rest). All windows, sunroof, power seats, mirrors, heated seats, and even the built in radar detector all function properly. Radio is not connected because the prior owner took the aftermarket amplifier that was in the trunk (radio can be hooked up without the amp).

Mechanically the car is excellent!!!!!!!  Runs, drives and shifts perfect great. This European version is much faster than the US car. This euro version car has 231 HP with 299 LB Ft of monster torque! Also it is equipped  with rear hydraulic suspension, European bumpers and lights, and dual selecting horn switch.

Recent work that was performed in the past 30 days;  idle control box replaced, rear suspension hydraulic lines replaced (as needed), replaced fuel and brake lines (as needed) Heat blows hot and the air blows cool (I would guess that it needs 1/2 pound of Freon, the compressor does come on). I would recommend new tire, drives very smooth and straight at 80mph. I would not hesitate to drive this car on a 2000 mile road trip. Exhaust is a true dual system with an H pipe (sounds great!)

Also included with the car, spare tire, books and the import and EPA documents from when the car entered into the United States in 1986.

The car is sold in “As Is Condition” and with no warranty.

I do encourage pre-sale inspections.

If you have questions, please send me your # and I will give you a call. Please bid if you are serious and have available funds to complete this transaction. Thank you.

Mercedes Concept GLA45 AMG is ready to run

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

This is the Mercedes-Benz Concept GLA45 AMG, and what we mean by that is, "This is the Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG." Mercedes has just unveiled the liveried 'concept' at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, giving potential customers a very good look at the newest lunatic in the AMG asylum - a 355-horsepower, 332-pound-foot crossover that uses the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in the CLA45 AMG and Europe's A45 AMG.
Joined with a seven-speed, AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission and an AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, Mercedes promises a sub-five-second run to 60 miles per hour. That's not just quick for a crossover, that's quick full stop.
That sleek, lifted body has also been tweaked by the minds at AMG's Affalterbach facility. A new rear spoiler, side sills and front clip are the primary aerodynamic tweaks. Aesthetically, AMG has fitted the requisite "Turbo" badges, gloss-black accents (including exhaust tips and roof rails) and a set of 21-inch, AMG-spec alloy wheels to round out the overall package. Based on the spy shots we've seen, expect slightly toned down aerodynamics when the GLA45 AMG arrives in showrooms.

Mercedes takes VW Westfalia Camper idea upscale with new Marco Polo

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz revealed the new V-Class. Slotting in below the popular Sprinter, the new V-Class replaced both the Viano and Vito upon its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. But Mercedes isn't quite done with it just yet. At the upcoming Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Germany, Mercedes will reveal the Marco Polo - a versatile, stylish and decidedly contemporary take on the classic camper van.
Named after the famous Italian explorer, the Marco Polo was converted by Westfalia, an outfit which you might more closely associate with classic VW camper vans but which Daimler absorbed over a decade ago. Offering, according to the press release below, "a maximum of opportunities to be independent, free and spontaneous," the Marco Polo sleeps four thanks to the rear bench that electrically folds flat into a bed and the second berth under the pop-top. The flexible interior is decked out like you'd expect a modern Mercedes to be, with ambient LED lighting as well as wood, metal and piano black trim.
It's got an onboard kitchenette with two gas burners, a sink and fridge with a 10 gallons of fresh water and an even bigger waste tank. All that gear is shlepped around by a choice of four-cylinder turbodiesel engines ranging in output from 136 to 190 horsepower. The relatively compact form boasts a turning circle similar to a full-size sedan and a height designed to fit into most garages and car washes. All of which just might make us reconsider the appeal of traveling by camper van.

Brabus 800 Roadster is a power-mad aristocrat

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

If we're being completely honest, we haven't exactly been in love with the aesthetics of the sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. It's mostly a front-end issue, with its glowering eagle-eye headlamps and upright, dinner-plate-sized Three-Pointed Star coming across to us as overwrought. That's particularly troublesome for a roadster whose history has of the most elegant designs of all time in its back catalog. Somehow, the new R231 generation's brash visuals seem more at home on this Brabus 800 Roadster to us.
That's probably because the high-dollar German tuner has turned up the wick on the SL's visuals even further, with carbon fiber bodywork, a more aggressive aero kit, matte hood scoop and complex two-finish wheels. It's all-the-way committed to its brashness, in other words - and justifiably so. Anything with 800 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque has earned the right to look however it wants, right?
Brabus started with the SL65 and its not-exactly-underpowered 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, and went to town, fitting their own turbocharger and intercooler system, along with a less-restrictive exhaust system with driver-selectable sound levels and new engine electronics. The result is a 3.7-second 0-62 mph time, an electronically limited top whack of 217 mph... and one seriously compromised toupée.
