I bought this 400e about 1.5 years ago. It has served me well, but I haven't really used it as much as I expected to and need the driveway space.

It runs extremely well and has never let me down.

The last owner did a bunch of work:
1. 50K miles on genuine replacement MB transmission

2. Replacement upper engine wiring harness

3. Recent radiator, belt tensioner, belt, thermostat, caps, rotors, wires, plugs, control arm, tie rods, rear links, 4 wheel alignment, valve cover gaskets, shifter bushings.

More details on previous owner's changes: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/sale-wanted-trade-giveaway/1618503-1992-400e-118k-miles-replacement-trans.html

I have recently put in a new MB battery. Shortly after buying I had some work done on the engine to replace some gaskets that were leaking oil. I also had new motor mounts installed.

A few things that need work -

Sunroof has not worked since I bought it.
A/C needs a charge.
Antenna was bent in car wash.
Radio head unit works, but makes an odd noise for a few seconds when turned on.

It is an excellent driving car.

No liens. Clear title in hand.

Clean Carfax (Autocheck). Can send if you need to see it.

Call me on 201 658 8897 if interested. Car is in Fort Lee, NJ.

LA To The Grand Canyon In The Mercedes-Benz Of RVs
Piloting an 8,500-pound motorized house down the highway is far from my idea of fun, yet inexplicably, I'm enjoying myself. My grin has nothing to do with my camper's handling, as this heavily accoutered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter drives like a 25-foot long breadbox. My smile has nothing to do with on-road stability, as the ten-foot-tall, slab-sided vehicle reacts to wind gusts like the vertical stabilizer on a Boeing jet. My delight has nothing to do with its throttle or braking response, either, as both are as numb as your forehead after the eighth beer.
This monstrosity makes me happy for one reason - my passengers are undeniably having a good time.

New Mercedes Unimog debuts to the cheers of little boys everywhere [w/video]

    Sat, 27 Apr 2013

The Mercedes Unimog, the superhero villain of the off-road world that's just waiting to make the jump to Transformer, has been completely upgraded for its new generation. There are ten models, expanding the range and getting new designations across the traditional all-terrain series and the implement-carrier series. Panoramic cabins get more visibility, multifunction steering wheels and better dash clusters, improved HVAC and a three-mode central tire inflation system. Outside, there are new items like LED headlights and daytime running lamps in the bumper, roof-mounted windshield wipers and a front-camera monitor for the implement carrier.
The new engine lineup is compliant with Euro VI, featuring four- and six-cylinder BlueEfficiency engines putting out anywhere from 156 horsepower to 354 hp. Powerplant placement has also been tweaked, the chassis members getting a revised curve to place the engine a bit further back and lower, maintaining off-road clearance and lowering the Unimog's center of gravity. The new location of the engine means the cabin has more room, and the wheelbase is shorter. Combined with a higher turning angle, the Unimog has a smaller turning radius than before.
The implement carrier gets what's called a "synergistic traveling drive," the bonus being that drivers don't need to stop in order to use an attachment - a hydrostatic transmission works with the regular manual transmission at up to 31 kilometers per hour for seamless switching.

Mercedes A45 AMG in downhill battle with slipstream skateboarder

    Mon, 30 Sep 2013

We're told it takes "performance, control and expression" to pilot a longboard skateboard down a mountain road, and that those happen to be the same values embodied in the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG. That's how the two came to be combined in a black-and-white short film called Silver Slipstream.
There's no talking, no engine note and no color, just some music, a 'boarder and a car on a long cruise down the Franschhoek Pass in the Western Cape of South Africa." Despite that, it's actually a pretty entertaining video of the latest Mercedes-Benz hot hatch married with extreme sports. You can watch how it all goes down in the video below.
