Mercedes Benz 300d Turbo Diesel "wvo Converted" Kit Installed Rare on 2040-cars
Jasper, New York, United States
Mercedes Benz 300D I have read that only 135 of this particular model was produced therefore it is very rare. The fryertofuel brand kit works flawlessly and this car has logged over half of its life mileage on grease. Fryertofuel sold and installed this kit years ago and they are still in business today with excellent customer service. You start the car on diesel, let the engine get up to operating temperature, flip a switch and bam your running on veggie oil! It has a separate heated aluminum tank in the trunk for the veg. Im going to be as clear as possible. Without running this car down Im going to say its kind of a "beater" car. Yes it was a high end luxury car in 93 but its logged almost 300k so therefore it shows wear and use appropriate with age. That being said it runs EXCELLENT. I drive it daily(selling only to convert a truck) The body does have some heavy rust and paint bubbling. The underside has surface rust only. The heater does not work that great and the sunroof doesn't open but everything else seems to work as it should. Power heated leather seats! The engine and drivetrain run and shift as they should. The engine has a lot of blow by that blows oil out over time. This is very common with these cars due to the crankcase pressure being so high. I just keep an eye on it and add a dab now and then. If you buy this car and plan to drive it home I will give you enough grease to drive home on and I will also educate you on my grease cleaning system. I have a system designed that is fairly inexpensive to build and works awesome. Ive never had a clogged filter or been stranded. greasecar.com has a lot of valuable info if your new to the idea. This cars original diesel system is still in place and unmolested. Does not have to run on veg grease but the way I see it is why buy gas when you can drive for free. literally. This kit is $1295 plus shipping and $500 average installation cost. Just something to think about if you buy a car that's not converted. |

YouTube's Super Bowl commercial buzz list dominated by automakers [w/videos]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013After Sunday's big game, YouTube will be the place to watch every commercial that you missed when you left your seat for an emergency guac refill or, as we say in Cleveland, took the Browns to the Super Bowl. That makes YouTube the nation's water cooler on Monday, and it's got some preliminary stats to share in the lead up to kickoff.
As you know, Super Bowl advertisers, particularly automakers, like to endlessly tease their big budget commercials in the weeks before the game, many times revealing them outright days in advance. Because of this, YouTube can tell us which commercials have been viewed the most so far, and their top five list is all automakers.
Kaley Cuoco appears to have been a good investment for Toyota, as her ad for the RAV4 has garnered the most YouTube views - six million and counting - among Super Bowl commercials so far. Second place goes to Mercedes-Benz, though not its actual Super Bowl commercial, but rather the teaser for it. You know, the one with Kate Upton and the car washing, which is up to 5.6 million views. Third place is Audi's Prom commercial (3.3M views), fourth goes to Volkswagen's slightly controversial Get In, Get Happy ad (3.3M views), and the fifth and final spot is bookended by the teaser video for Kaley Cuoco's commercial (3.2M views). You can watch all five in order below.
Mercedes-Benz introduces new heavy security M-Class Guard model
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new addition to the company's line of personal security vehicles. The M-Class Guard features bullet-proof side windows made with special laminated glazing and a polycarbonate inner layer to protect occupants from shards of glass. Mercedes says the M-Class Guard meets protection level VR4 according to the Bullet Resistant Vehicles 2009 standards, based on testing from the independent Ulm-based Ballistics Bureau, which means it can withstand .357 Magnum and .44 fire from multiple angles. It can also stand up to the DM51 hand grenade when equipped with optional floor armoring. Why skimp?
Buyers looking for protection from the world's literal slings and arrows can opt for the ML350 BlueTEC with its 258 horsepower 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. With 457 pound-feet of torque, the oil-burner should have no trouble hustling the privileged class about. Of course, the ML500 offers a bit more punch courtesy of a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 with 408 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Prices start at 105,050 euros for the diesel and 118,650 euros for the V8. You can check out the full press release below for more information.
Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.
