1982 was the first year Mercedes introduced a turbo charger fore the gorgeous 300CD coupe . This car already had a reputation for being very economical and reliable . Now it also had enough power to compete with other gasoline models . This particular car was finished in dark blue ( MB color code 904 ) with beige ( MB color code 155) MB-tex interior . The body still is in great condition and the paint only has very minor scratches on it . It still looks amazing considering this car is 31 years old . The interior is in very nice condition as well . The carpets have been re-done and the headliner is new as well . The seats are still firm and in great shape .The dark blue color with the light beige interior makes for a very elegant color combination and i have not seen another one like it . This is a stunning 300CD .  Please look at the many pictures i uploaded , they can describe this car much better than i can . This car has always been well maintained and it shows . Just this year both drive shaft axles have been replaced . The car has been serviced last week . The fluids have been changed and the valves have been adjusted . It is a pleasure to drive in town and on the freeway . If you have any questions or would like to see it , please send me a note through Ebay and i will get back to you promptly . Please do all your " due diligence" BEFORE placing a bid . This is a wonderful 31 year old car and it will be sold without a warranty " as is " and " where is " . I would prefer to sell this car locally to somebody who could come out and see it . But i would also be willing to help with an airport pick up or shipping arrangements . All shipping charges would have to be paid by the winning bidder .  Thank you for looking at my auction and i am looking forward to an easy and pleasant transaction ....

Chris Harris and David Coulthard wring out a Mercedes Fintail at the N"urburgring

Thu, 17 Oct 2013

If there's one thing we've learned from the latest video from Drive, it's that the combination of Chris Harris and David Coulthard will produce some very quotable moments. Take this exchange, for example.
DC: "We are by some way the slowest."
CH: "But we're in a class of three cars, apparently."

Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

2011 Maybach 62 - Click above for high-res image gallery
What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.

Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG coming to the New York Auto Show

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

Mercedes-Benz showed off the CLA45 AMG at a private event on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, but was determined not to let it be photographed. We can talk about it, though - after all, a teaser image was released to promote the new Sony game Drive Club. The CLA45 AMG will use the same powertrain as the A45 AMG, which means a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 360 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. And that means a small four-door coupe sedan with the highest horsepower-per-liter in the segment. It will shift through the same seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, should also run out of speed at 155 miles per hour and have that three-stage stability control system.
As with its hatch sibling, the CLA is already so aggressive on the outside - and the parent company so anxious not to demolish the sedan's 0.22 coefficient of drag - that not much has been done to the cranked-up CLA. Even the rather thin tires on the standard only get a little less thin on the hotter variant. Inside will be the telltale AMG signs, with lots of red detailing and that flat-bottomed wheel among the giveaways. We'll know more later this month when the wraps come off at the New York International Auto Show.
