Mercedes Benz

1991 Mercedes Benz 350 SDL 6 CYL Diesel Car. This is a True Classic that is rapidly disappearing from the Highways. Its a wonderful Car for the Wide Open Road and traveling with lots of room and many features. This car was purchased by me from a Dealer in 2006 in Richmond, Virginia and the oil & filters was changed and drove to Florida where I discussed the problems with an Old time friend, of 40 years, who is Mercedes Benz mechanic and we discussed the issue and the issues lies with Mercedes Benz and should have had at the time a recall by Mercedes Benz because the connecting rods used was from a 300 gas motor and was to light for diesel motors. At approx. 100,000 to 150,000 miles the connecting rods would twist causing a problem in the valve trane of the engine. It was therefore when I decided to rebuild the motor. No expense was sparred.... I replaced the Pistons, connecting rods, bearings, all valves and valve guides, New Crank Shaft, Camshaft & all Hydraulic lifters, vacuum pump, oil pump and timing chains and finally replaced the engine block sleeves to match with the new pistons. While the engine was out we overhauled the transmission and replaced the pump, torque converter and clutch plates. I have then since put 80,000 miles on the New rebuilt engine. I replaced the brake system  with Otto Zimmerman rotors and ceramic brake pads. I wanted to Drive the car in Florida and also in the North Carolina Mountains so I replaced the standard shocks with adjustable koni shocks. Next I rebuilt the total under carriage with new tie rods, ball joints, transfer rods and all rubber to accommodate the new special rims. I have complete records to everything that was done with the car that will be included with the Sale. Also included are numerous spare parts as seen in pictures including Filters and more. This Car has always been garaged Kept and Adult owned and driven. The car does show normal wear for its age and usage. I have tried to include some up close pictures. Please ask all questions before placing your bid. The Car was only in production for 2 years and Not many left especially in this condition.  Shipping and Delivery will be the responsibility of the Buyer.

2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA priced from $31,300*

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Mercedes-Benz has kindly let loose the price of the 2015 GLA-Class, telling Autoblog.com that the base 208-horsepower GLA250 in two-wheel drive will go for $31,300 *not including a destination charge of $925. That makes for $32,225 in total to get one off the lot, a price predicted as early as last year and in our recent First Drive. The other two available models can push power to all four wheels, and after the destination fee is applied the GLA240 4Matic (pictured) will be $34,225 while the 355-horsepower GLA45 AMG will change lives and wallets to the tune of $49,225.
On the base scale, that puts the GLA250 just a few hundred dollar bills above the more powerful, rear-wheel drive BMW X1 and a stack of hundreds below the less powerful, front-wheel drive Audi Q3. If you're keeping in-house score, the GLA250 comes in at $1,400 above its sedan platform-mate with the same engine, the CLA250. At the high end, however, the competition doesn't have anything that can touch the AMG trim. Not that it should matter all that much - Mercedes needed something to keep these buyers in the family, and now they have it. If any of them should need even more power and more money spent, then there's always that 394-hp Brabus flavor. We'll have more info and details on each trim when Mercedes unleashes the shebang in the not-too-distant future.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class caught totally undisguised

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Based on the lightly camouflaged spy shots of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class we've seen lately, it hasn't taken a vivid imagination to picture what the next iteration of this big luxury sedan will look like. Even so, we now we have our first unobstructed views of the redesigned S-Class, codenamed W222, as it has just been caught out flaunting for some promo shots.
The first thing we notice about the new S-Class design is the disappearance of the last generation's flared wheel arches. Yet the new design adds even more character with bodyside creases similar to the CLS-Class and some elements reminiscent of 2007's F700 Concept, including the massive grille and vertical LED taillights. Other key details include a large panoramic roof and the narrow exhaust outlets, but the large LED-trimmed headlights and the aggressive front fascia are probably the biggest departure from the current design. With these spy shots, we also catch a blurry shot of the interior, but we've seen a practically uncovered look at the new S-Class' cabin back in January.
Overall, the next S-Class sports an expressive and premium new look, but as far as all-new designs go, it's quite conservative - a move no doubt fitting for these lean financial times.

Next Mercedes S-Class stretching into this 600 Pullman limo

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

To the concern of nobody in particular, Mercedes-Benz will not be re-upping its Maybach line of ultra-luxury limousines. No, instead the German automaker will be stretching its already roomy S-Class, to make this upcoming 600 Pullman version of the decked-out beast.
The car in our new gallery of spy shots is sporting beefy B-pillars and a massive set of rear doors that should allow perfectly graceful ingress and egress from what is likely to be a palatial rear space. (In one photo we can even see a long-wheelbase S-Class in line with the new Pullman, handily exhibiting the size of the new variant.) The exterior modifications are otherwise obscured, though we can guess at revised front and rear fascia and lighting elements, based on both end being heavily taped for these test runs.
It's a good bet that the Pullman will make use of M-B's twin-turbocharged V12 engine, though sources indicate that a hybrid version might eventually be in the offing, as well.
