I have owned this car for about 1 year. Before that it was owned by an older woman who drove it very lightly. I bought it after doing a lot of research on the most solid cars to convert to run on wvo. I have decided that I need a truck. These are great cars (famous w123 class). I have been from Washington to Missouri twice in this car in the past 6 months. It had no problems on either trip.
It has a Greascar kit that was professionally installed. I have been very picky about only running well filtered oil with no water. I change my own filters regularly and oil every 3000 miles. I rate the cosmetic condition at 7/10 and drivetrain at 8/10
New:
Injectors
Ball joints and Idler Arm
OEM hydraulic fluid and filter
Fuel lines
Spindle, bearings, races and seal on front drivers side
Trailer hitch 2"

I recently had it to a Mercedes mechanic to have it the valves adjusted and he said that it has more power than most of the older diesels he has seen. This is what he recommended to do.
Motor mounts
Transmission mount
Auto shift bushing

Other know issues:
Door check strap needs replaced (back right door is stuck shut)
Troubleshoot door lock vacuum leak (have power door lock vacuum line capped off)
Cruise control is temperamental (does not work about 1/3 of the time)
Small rust spots near back wheel wells
Small dent above fuel filler door

2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Wagon is one hot hauler [w/video]

Thu, 28 Mar 2013 19:29:00 EST

Mentioned at the debut of the redesigned Mercedes-Benz E-Class back in January, Mercedes has finally pulled back the curtain on the E63 AMG S, which was on display at the New York Auto Show in wagon guise. The 2014 E63 AMG S ups the ante even more from a "base" E63 AMG, improving the car's performance and styling - not that it needed help with either to begin with.
Our favorite S-model upgrade is the added output tweaked out of the 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, which represents a substantial gain of 27 hp and 59 lb-ft of torque over the stock E63. In wagon form, the E63 AMG S can run from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph. All 2014 E63 AMGs come with Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, but the S-Model adds in a limited-slip rear differential for improved performance.
Mercedes has made sure that the extra money being spent on the S-Model is instantly noticeable with slightly different design cues and black along with 10-spoke wheels with red brake calipers peeking through. Plenty of silver-chrome and high-gloss black accents finish off the exterior styling, while the interior adds Alcantara on the steering wheel, accent stitching on the leather and contrasting silver seat belts on models with the black interior. Why all of this year's F1 noses are so ugly [w/video]

Fri, 31 Jan 2014 19:31:00 EST

If you're a serious fan of Formula One, you already know all about The Great Nosecone Conundrum of 2014. Those given to parsing each year's F1 regulations predicted the strong possibility of the so-called "anteater" noses as far back as early December 2013. Highly suggestive visual evidence first came after Caterham's crash test in early January, with further proof coming as soon as Williams showed a rendering of the FW36 challenger for this year's championship. That car earned a name that wasn't nearly so kind as "anteater."
Casual followers of the sport - or anyone who gets the feed from this site - probably don't know what's happening, except to wonder why the current year's F1 cars are led by appendages that would make Cyrano de Bergerac feel a whole lot better about himself.
The short answer to the question of ugsome F1 noses is "FIA regulations and safety." The reason there are various kinds of ugsome noses is simpler: engineers. The same boffins who have given us advances including carbon fiber monocoques, six-wheeled cars, double diffusers and Drag Reduction Systems are bred to do everything in their power to exploit every possible freedom in the regulations to make the cars they're building go faster - the caveat being that those advances have to work within the overall philosophy of the whole car.

2014 Mercedes S-Class priced lower from $92,900*

Mon, 09 Sep 2013 15:00:00 EST

The massively overhauled 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will start at $92,900, not including a $925 destination fee, when it arrives at US dealers in October. That's a 2.8-percent drop over the 2013 S-Class, although Mercedes is fast to point out that a drop in price doesn't equate with a drop in equipment for the executive sedan.
Besides an extra 20 horsepower from the 4.6-liter, biturbocharged V8, the S550 sports a standard panoramic sunroof, keyless start, a rear-view camera and LED headlights, taillights and interior lights. Adding the German manufacturer's 4Matic all-wheel-drive system bumps the S550's price up to $95,900.
If the S550 doesn't quite cut the mustard, you can wait until November, at which point Mercedes will quite happily sell you the new S63 AMG 4Matic for $139,500. Power is also up on the S63, from a max of 563 ponies with an AMG Performance Package to 577 horsepower as standard on the 2014 model.
