All original except radio. 48,000 miles. I'm the second owner for a few years now. I got the car from the wife of an older gentleman that had passed away. So as for history on the car and a better description its hard to say because she didn't tell me very much information. I don't think she knew much about cars. Car has been sitting most of the time in my warehouse and don't see much use for it anymore other than collect dust. Only put a few hundred miles on it.
Will probably need a basic tune up. It seems like the carbs are a little gummed up. Slight hesitation every so often. I never had any problems with the car since I've owned it otherwise. The battery still holds a charge and tires are still in great shape. I have sanded and repainted the intake, so it is not rusted at all anymore.
It's originally from Saint Louis, Missouri. I drove it back to Chicago which was about a 6 hour drive. Theres paperwork showing the maintenance that has been done from the original owner. Looks like the basic scheduled maintenance that Mercedes suggests.
There's next to no rust on the car. Some surface rust here and there underneath but nothing major. Theres some paint chips on the truck and a fade spot on the hood. Runs and drives great straight down the road no shaking or pulling. Has a lot of power for such a heavy car. Interior has no cracks or tears except for a crack on the dash. Just replaced hood emblem(not shown in pics).
The only things that are wrong with the car mechanically wise, are the levers for the heater controls are broken and radio wasn't turning on. The radio could just be a fuse I'm not sure.
I made several videos of a walk around the car and showing all the electrical works fine. Also one driving down the street. If your a serious buyer I would gladly email them to you.
Get back to me via email or call/text with questions. Thanks for looking.

Have many more pictures but can't update on my phone. Email me for more and I would be glad to send them. Especially the interior. It's in great shape but I didn't post much. Didn't realize you can't edit with the eBay mobile app.

Mercedes making aggressive plans for Chinese market
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Mercedes-Benz is preparing a major product offensive to counteract lagging sales in the Chinese market, aiming 20 new or updated models at the People's Republic in the next two years, according to a report by Reuters. The plan is part of MB's so-called 2020 Initiative, which will see the Stuttgart-based manufacturer dump 2 billion Euros ($2.67 billion) into its Chinese market vehicles in a bid to boost sales to 300,000 units by 2015.
Were it to succeed, China would become the largest market for the Silver Arrow, outpacing Germany and the United States. Leading the charge will be the redesigned E-Class, which is set to launch in China this week. That will quickly be followed by the S-Class, and eventually by the GLA-Class in 2014.
Mercedes has struggled in China, especially relative to its German competition, BMW and Audi. Where Mercedes saw a mere four-percent increase in 2012 sales to 206,150 units, Audi was up a staggering 32 percent, while BMW's numbers jumped 41 percent. While some voices, according to Reuters, accuse Munich and Ingolstadt of boosting their numbers through hefty incentives, the fact remains that Mercedes was just walloped by its competitors last year.
X1, 3 Series power BMW back into global luxury autos sales lead
Thu, 14 Mar 2013BMW managed to eke ahead of Audi for the global luxury sales crown in February. According to Bloomberg, BMW saw deliveries swell by 7 percent in February, besting the 3.2 percent jump enjoyed by Audi and giving BMW a 407-unit delivery lead over its rival last month. Mercedes-Benz, meanwhile, continued to falter, with the brand selling some 37,229 fewer machines than BMW, whose factories are running at full capacity to keep up with demand. Models like the X1 (shown above) enjoyed a sales increase of 40 percent in February while the company's bread-and-butter 3 Series jumped by 26 percent.
Mercedes-Benz hopes to stem its continued market share loss with the addition of the entry-level CLA sedan to its portfolio in April. The company is set to roll out an updated version of its cash-cow E-Class at the same time, and a new-generation S-Class will follow along shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, the company is increasing production to meet demand for its A and B-Class models.
Mercedes teams with Pebble for smartwatch tech
Tue, 24 Dec 2013Most automakers have realized by now that a good infotainment system is a must-have feature for many buyers, and have, as a result, invested increasing amounts of time and money developing these technologies. But some automakers are going above and beyond in-car entertainment and navigation technology by focusing on wearable technology as well.
Nissan has emerged as one such company, developing its own alternative to Google Glass and performance-oriented smartwatch. But Mercedes-Benz is also putting itself at the forefront of wearable tech - not by developing competing products to those designed by dedicated tech companies, but by working with them. The German automaker, as we recently reported, is developing its own app for Google Glass, and is now doing the same with smartwatches as well.
Set to be unveiled at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Mercedes has collaborated with Pebble Technologies to develop the Digital DriveStyle app. The system will display tell its wearer where the car is, whether the doors are locked and if it needs fuel. Inside the car it'll alert the driver to potential hazards coming up on the road, while making functions like re-routing the nav system, controlling the audio system or activating Siri that much easier.
