20. New Rear Window Seal

22. New Front Leather Seats - New Seats From a Honda Odyssey Conversion Company - They are almost the same dimensions as original MB Seats but Modern and Super Comfortable.
23. New Rear Seat sewed to match the front Odyssey Seats, same color and style.
24. New Custom Dash Pad covers some minor dash cracks.
25. All gauges were taken apart, cleaned and replaced, all work except for the odometer which stopped about a month ago (go figure)
26. All Lights, Blinkers and Flasher works.
27. All New Carpet and Pad.
28. Replaced the Old Non-retract seat belts with newer MB retractable versions.
29. New JVC Stereo with speakers in the front doors and two on the rear deck (sound rocks)
30. New Suspension to body bushings.
(I know I am forgetting some items but in short, I have gone through each mechanical system)

Body Condition - Car was sold in California and lived most of it's life in Arizona. Surface rust on very few spots, and some trunk rust - I will replace the trunk floor section with new sheet metal prior to being sold. No rust in wheel wells, or under the car - super dry and clean. Body panels are straight, a few minor dents but nothing major - typical of a 44 year old classic that is a daily driver. Car was resprayed during the last 10 years, clear coat is flaking on roof and a few other surfaces but not bad. Could use a repaint at some point.

Glass - original glass, some typical front window pitting but not cracks or major chips.

Running Condition - This is my daily driver, runs really well, no issues, carb is tuned well. Comfortable, drives well on highway, hills etc. Does not over heat on highway even when driving on long mountain grades we have between Phoenix and my home in northern Arizona. At one time it had AC, but compressor and engine components were removed by previous owner. The side vent window are great in hot weather!

Why am I selling this after countless hours of work? The main reason is I need to buy or TRADE for a car for my son who is going to be off to college in Phoenix in August and his current car is on it's way out. (a Daewoo with electrical problems) I also enjoy bringing cars back to life as much as driving them and I am ready for a new project sat some point anyway. My son needs to come first, I can always find a car for myself another time.

Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept gets mobbed in China

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

If the reception it received at the Shanghai Motor Show is any judge of marketplace acceptance, Mercedes-Benz has a hit on its hands in the form of the GLA Concept. And we can understand why - we're quickly becoming fans of Mercedes' recent styling language, as defined by new models like the CLA and this GLA Concept.
The big news on the exterior front are the headlamp clusters, which have frickin' laser beams attached to their foreheads embedded inside that are capable of projecting videos and images on a screen. Plus, a pair of video cameras are mounted on the roof that can be used to capture driving excitement or removed and taken with you. How cool is that? We just hope they have a substantial locking mechanism to prevent would-be thievery...
If the exterior is mostly ready for production, with a few of the more outlandish elements moved to the trash bin - like, for instance, laser-beam headlamps and removable action cams - the interior is a true custom job that screams concept loud and clear. There are all kinds of jewel-like finishes inside, along with transparent surfaces showing what looks like metal latticework underneath and some awfully thick looking leather with massive exterior stitching done by hand similar to what you'd find on a baseball glove.

Carlsson turns Mercedes-Benz SLK into 610-HP hill-climb clawer

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

Carlsson's race-tuned versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLK have been taking checkered flags for years, and we won't be surprised if its SLK 340 hill climber fares any different. Developed by multiple German and Swiss hill climb champion Reto Meisel, the carbon-bodied SLK 340 with lightweight brakes and a closed underbody weighs 1,716 pounds. Propelling that tiny bit of weight is a 3.4-liter V8 from Judd with 610 horsepower, and it rolls on 18-inch wheels shod in Avon tires.
It will debut at the Geneva Motor Show before beginning its racing campaigns in the summer. This one won't just tear up roads in Europe, though - Meisel says he plans on bringing it to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The press release below has more details.

Next Mercedes S-Class stretching into this 600 Pullman limo

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

To the concern of nobody in particular, Mercedes-Benz will not be re-upping its Maybach line of ultra-luxury limousines. No, instead the German automaker will be stretching its already roomy S-Class, to make this upcoming 600 Pullman version of the decked-out beast.
The car in our new gallery of spy shots is sporting beefy B-pillars and a massive set of rear doors that should allow perfectly graceful ingress and egress from what is likely to be a palatial rear space. (In one photo we can even see a long-wheelbase S-Class in line with the new Pullman, handily exhibiting the size of the new variant.) The exterior modifications are otherwise obscured, though we can guess at revised front and rear fascia and lighting elements, based on both end being heavily taped for these test runs.
It's a good bet that the Pullman will make use of M-B's twin-turbocharged V12 engine, though sources indicate that a hybrid version might eventually be in the offing, as well.
