1985 Mazda Rx-7 Gsl Red 12a First Gen on 2040-cars

Year:1985 Mileage:135000
Location:

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States

THIS HAS BEEN MY BABY SINCE 1987.
I'd like it to go to a new home that will fix it up. It's a good looking car and has brought me many dates way back when.

Here are some of the troubles with the car. I do drive it about once a week, every week since 1987.
I have to let it go because I have too many cars.

If you have any questions please call me at 954-821-9190

windows work very slow, radio and clock faded, leaks inside during big rain storm, slight hesitation upon takeoff. True mileage, carfax says in 2001 mileage conflict but no way. I've had the car since 1987. Driver seat is worn. It has some rust, not much but there are some spots. The air conditioner might work, I haven't used it in 10 years because the compressor was weak and the wipers need a new motor.  The car looks so good but has some internal issues but again I drive it every single week and hope it doesn't rain.  The tires are in very good shape. The roof needs some molding and the driver seat is 135000 miles used.

It will NOT come with the wing on the back or the louvers on the back window.  I have another RX=7 and they will be put on that so this car wont' come with it.

I think a good mechanic and/or someone that could fix it up could drive it nicely or you could probably sell it for the parts and get somewhere in the 5-7 thousand range.  In the last 3 months I put on a brand new windshield washer and turn switch, a brand new idler arm, a brand new pitman arm so the car is very stable.  The tires are in good shape.

So many people are looking for these cars and they've been selling for around the 5000 - 6000 dollar area. I know because I have the link to the RX-7 I just bought last week for 5500. I need a new driver and I am not too good at fixing things.

I can send as many photos as requested.  My favorite car I ever had and it's time :((((((((((((((

Mazda reveals new 'Game Changers' advertising campaign

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

Looking to highlight its unique and sporty mindset, Mazda is getting ready to launch its biggest advertising campaign since "Zoom-Zoom" became its tagline in 2000. The new campaign, entitled "Game Changers," will begin in May, and rather than focusing on its sporty past - like it did with Zoom-Zoom early on - the new ads will look at recent advancements made in building its future, including Skyactiv technologies and its new diesel race program, both of which involve its excellent new Mazda6 sedan.
As a part of the ads, Mazda will showcase game changers from the sporting world, including Dick Fosbury who changed how competitors perform the high jump and Laird Hamilton, who redefined how surfers attacked big waves. It doesn't sound like Zoom-Zoom is going away, but "Game Changers" will definitely feature heavily in the Japanese automaker's marketing moving forward. A few examples of the new ad campaign are posted in our gallery, and the press release is available below.

Mazda's first profit in five years in sight due to weak yen

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

Automotive News reports Mazda is set to turn a profit for the first time in five years. The automaker is more dependent on exports from Japan than other automakers based in that country, and as a result, it has long suffered at the hands of a strong yen. But the currency has declined in value by some 16 percent over the past six months and Mazda's shares have tripled in value to their highest level since 2008. Contrast this situation to a year ago when Mazda printed 1.22 billion new shares to raise cash. The move was equivalent to 70 percent of the company's then-outstanding stock, and values tumbled to record lows as a result.
Now that the yen has fallen to a value of around 96 per dollar, Mazda operations in the US are more profitable and the company now projects it will earn around $279 million for the next fiscal year. Automotive News says a one yen change against the dollar can have a 9.1 percent impact on Mazda operating profit compared to 4.7 percent at Subaru parent Fuji Heavy Industries or 3.1 percent at Toyota. Those automakers better insulate themselves from currency fluctuations with overseas manufacturing facilities.

Honda, Nissan and Mazda recalling 3 million vehicles for airbag inflators

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

Three million more vehicles can be added to the worldwide tally to be repaired for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata. Honda, Nissan, and Mazda have all issued recalls to replace the bad part, including about 1.2 million of them in North America. NHTSA has been investigating all three companies, plus Chrysler and Toyota, for potentially affected vehicles.
Honda is recalling roughly 1.02 million Civic, CR-V, Odyssey and Element models In North America, built between April 2000 and October 2002. Mazda needs to repair 14,794 units of the RX-8 and Mazda6, and Nissan has 228,000 vehicles in North America to be fixed.
Chrysler is also starting what it calls a "regional field action" to replace the inflators in the 2006 Dodge Charger, according to a company spokesperson. The company says that it has not yet found the problem in any of its vehicles, but it's being done "out of an abundance of caution." The final number of Chargers affected will be announced later this week.
