2002 Mazda MPV LX van, 3.0 motor runs good, but automatic transmission needs work or replaced. Good black body and tan interior. Drivers side fog light lense is broken but light still works. Has remote start. New front tires only 1 week old when transmission went. Also almost full tank of gas. Was driving in passing lane on interstate when transmission quit out of the blue. After towed home and van sat for a day I started it up and I was able to move it forward and back but whinning noise coming from transmission so afraid to drive it as is. Transmission fluid was full and doesn't have burnt smell to. Sold as is. Clear title. Vehicle being relisted due to no contact or payment from buyer. Mazda's awesome Hiroshima museum now navigable by Google Maps
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Visiting an auto museum is one of the best ways we know to connect with car culture and to commune with the past and bone up on one's knowledge. Most of us have a decent museum within a few hours drive of where we live, but that doesn't mean it's easy to see the world's great collections - factors like cost, time and mobility can get in the way. Videos are great, but they don't allow us to browse at our own pace or choose what we'd like to focus on. The folks behind Google Maps have a solution - the virtual museum tour, as seen here at Mazda's fantastic museum in Hiroshima, Japan.

Takashi Yamanouchi to retire as Mazda chairman
Mon, 12 May 2014Takashi Yamanouchi has been with Mazda for a long time. He signed on with the Japanese automaker in April 1967 - one month after graduating from Keio University - and rose through the ranks over the years. By 1996 he was named to the company's board of directors. In 2008 he was named president and CEO, an office he held until 2013, after which he handed over the day-to-day reins to Masamichi Kogai and took up the seat at the head of the board room to serve as the company's chairman. But now, after 47 years working for Mazda, Yamanouchi-san is retiring at the age of 69.
During his tenure as CEO and then as chairman, Yamanouchi was credited with growing Mazda's business despite unfavorable fluctuations in exchange rates, opening the company's first plant in Mexico, and spearheading the development of Mazda's Skyactiv technologies and Kodo design language.
In his place, current vice chairman Seita Kanai will take over as chairman. The changing of the guard will take place after the annual shareholders' meeting on June 24.

The finalists - three in cars and three in three trucks/utilities - are dominated by American brands, with two-thirds of the finalists hailing from either General Motors or Chrysler (don't worry Ford, there's always next year), while outliers from Mazda and Acura can be found in each contest.
