Up for sale is my 2009 Mazda CX-7. Auto transmission and front wheel drive. Cloth interior with no tears - never smoked in. It just recently turned over 69,000 miles (it is still being driven daily, so the mileage will continue to increase). The engine is the only one available in the 2009's - a 2.3L four cylinder turbo (very strong with very little turbo lag). It's clean inside and out.  It doesn't leak/drip anything (and just for you who can only see black and white, it will drip water when you run the A/C, just like it should).

It is a used car, so it does have some 'road rash' as I call it, but overall, it is in good condition. There are no dings or dents. No hail damage.  I'm not a tire expert, but I would say there are two winters left on the tires.  The only bad thing I can say about it

The short story is that I purchased this a couple months ago (April'ish) because I needed an automatic. I'm a loyalist to manual transmissions, so now she is up for sale now that I don't need it. I purchased it from Northtowne Mazda here in KC for $14,999. The Autocheck was and is clean. In the time I've had it, it has only been a perfect vehicle with no mechanical issues at all. My mileage has ranged anywhere from 19 to 25 mpg.

I have the title in hand.  The buyer will have to pay via certified funds (i.e. cashiers check) or cash.

Graffiti artist Banksy turns Mazda Protege into warfare commentary

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

British street artist Banksy, who currently resides in New York City for its high pedestrian traffic and plentiful hiding spots, recently took his stencils and spray cans to a truck trailer and an old Mazda to make a commentary about war, according to a video report by Newsy.
Part of the canvas, a late-1990s Mazda Protege, is a sub-$3,000 used car at best, but we're sure having Banksy's art sprayed onto it has greatly increased its value, as it did to a piece at a Former Packard plant in Detroit a few years ago. The same goes for the trailer, which looks like it would be right at home attached to a U-Haul rental truck.
The graffito, painted in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, was accompanied by a link to some disturbing audio from a controversial 2007 military video leaked by Wikileaks in 2010. Head on below to watch the video report, and be sure to visit Banksy's website if you want to see the painting with the audio (listener discretion advised).

Mazda announces live-streaming vehicle intro on Xbox

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

In April, Mazda introduced a marketing campaign titled "Game Changers" to showcase how certain people have made significant impacts in their respective sports, and now it's the Japanese automaker that is changing the game by creating an innovative way to launch a new product. Mazda is teaming up with Xbox to offer a first-of-its-kind live-streaming global debut of a new product. Mazda didn't say which model will be debuted, but our guess is that it will be the next-generation Mazda3.
The actual reveal will take place at 9 pm on June 26 during a live concert from the band Metric in New York City, but there will be other live events preceding the concert in Melbourne, St. Petersburg, Istanbul and London. Mazda will be promoting the event on social media using the hashtag #GameChanger, and there is also a contest on Xbox where one winner will receive $2,500 to attend a music event of their choice. Scroll down for the full details of the contest and vehicle debut event.

2014 Mazda6: Winter's End Update

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

The Winter Without End is seemingly dead. Outside my office windows, my brown and yellow lawn is fully exposed to the increasingly powerful sunshine, the morning birdsong is louder than anything until the garbage trucks start rolling, and I'm seriously considering having the summer tires put back on my personal fleet. That last one is a little scary, as I'm a firm believer in the April Snow Jinx, but you get the idea.
The long-term Mazda6 has also long since left my driveway. Looking back on my notes from the time it was in my charge, however, I see all remarks are dominated by one highlighted section at the top: "worst winter drive of all time." I hardly need the reminder, to be honest. Here's what happened.
When the Mazda showed up at my door, we'd already fitted the thing with its new winter rubber: Bridgestone Blizzaks. Plunking down for dedicated snow tires was a near necessity this year - as it almost always is in Michigan. We didn't see much reprieve from snow-choked, iced over roads here in Ann Arbor, and the knobbier rubber proved invaluable in getting me out of my house time and again.
