This MGTD was professionally refitted with a 1980's Nissan A-14 engine and auto Transmission. It does not make it more original but it makes it more reliable. If you want to drive it rather than trailer and show it, this is a car you should consider. Purchased two years ago near New York city from an antique aircraft mechanic. It appears to have been rewired throughout. Original gauges have not been converted to the new engine/ tranny but aftermarket gauges have been added: Tach, Temp, Oil pressure. It will handle 55-60 MPH but you won't be passing in the fast lane of an interstate too much. The canvas top is worn and the side curtains are shot. There is a newer tonneau cover which will protect the cockpit in a sudden rain. Chrome is shiny, Red paint is good but has some chips. No tears in seats. Rear end is believed to be original. Brake cylinders were changed at four wheels this summer.

It presents well and is a head turner.
