Pricing It is quite difficult to price such a car. The engine alone is worth at least $15K to the right buyer. I started bidding at a reasonable but low price to be sure I would get bidding started to see what its value really is. I would love to get the “Buy It Now” price and hope someone goes for it. The reserve price is set well below the BIN price and I would not let it go for less than that price at this time. The car can be driven just as it is for general street use and blasting that motor down an open road. Every older Lotus is a project car either needing work like the paint on this one or the owner can always think of a new upgrade he wants to make depending on his intended use. By 1969 standards the car handles very well on the narrow tires. To get the car to handle as good it goes, new wheels and tires would be needed. There are two good choices for the center nut / peg drive wheels from Panasport (13x5) or Minilites (14 x 5 1/2 ). There are lots of good tire choices for these wheels especially the 14” wheels. You are welcome to ask questions via ebay or come see the car in South Jersey. Payment: Send $1000 via PayPal within three days of end of auction. We can arrange payment in full and car pick up after order confirmation deposit. |

Lotus F1 apologizes for tweeting support for LGBT Olympians
Mon, 10 Feb 2014The Lotus Formula One Team is apologizing after its official Twitter account posted this image of two men kissing in connection to the opening of the Winter Olympics on Friday, February 7. It claims that the original tweet was "unauthorized."
The tweet, which Lotus deleted later that day, can be viewed to the right and was promptly replaced an apology that said, "We would like to sincerely apologise for an unauthorized message posted on our Twitter account today & will ensure this cannot happen again." Responses to the kerfuffle on its Twitter page have mostly focused on confusion as to what the original tweet was and why it was removed.
While the Sochi Olympics have been controversial among LBGT groups because of Russia's laws banning so-called "gay propaganda," the country has a growing importance in F1. In fact, the first Russian Grand Prix is scheduled to run later this season on a circuit around the Sochi Olympic Park. Genii Capital, the team's owner, has business interests in Russia, and according to the BBC, the Lotus F1 team is working on a deal to with Russian mobile phone company Yotaphone to sell it 10 percent of the team.
Lotus slated to stop selling Evora in US
Mon, 22 Sep 2014It's been three years now since Lotus stopped selling the Elise and Exige in North America, leaving the Evora as its only model available Stateside. But according to the latest from Car and Driver, even that model is on its way out.
The problem reportedly comes down to air bags. Lotus was granted a temporary exemption from fitting the latest-generation smart airbags to the Evora, but that exemption is set to expire at the end of the year. And once it does, Lotus apparently has no intention of developing and fitting the proper equipment to allow it to continue selling the Evora in the United States.
Once the Evora is gone from our market, Lotus will be reduced to selling only track-bound versions of the Elise and Exige in the US, so the prospect of actually buying a new Lotus and driving off the dealer lot will vanish into thin air.
