1978 Lincoln TownCar

The Lincoln has original miles with 98,748. It has a strong runnings 460 motor! I bought the car from a lady that got the car out of an estate. I've owned the car for about two years. I put the wide Coker white walls on the car and also a new vinyl top. I have replaced the old single exhaust with new dual exhaust that are cut short to be level with the rear of the car. All the power windows work except the right rear window. The motor in the window is still good but the plastic track that holds the arm in place is broken. The a/c needs some work. I filled it with freon but it leaked down after a short time. Never took the time to have it fixed. Also the brake light stays on all the time. Not sure the reason. But over all its a good car! With interior being in great shape for its age. With the right paint job it could easily be a show car or just a nice classic to drive around. All the chrome on the car is inline and looks good. And it has NO rust! Please serious bidders only! This is a NO RESERVE sale! Please contact me if you have any questions or would like me to sent you a video of the car running and driving!
Happy Bidding!

Lincoln MKC crossover headed for Detroit

Wed, 19 Dec 2012 17:44:00 EST

Fresh off the launch of the stylish new MKZ sedan, the newly named Lincoln Motor Company is reportedly preparing for a lineup expansion. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, the first new product joining the Lincoln brand is a small crossover based on the Ford Escape said to be called the MKC. We saw this machine testing a few months ago, and while we were hoping the name might be reserved for a future two-door model or even the diminutive Concept C hatchback, it looks like the "C" will stand for compact crossover instead.
The report also says that this crossover will be making its debut next month at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, so we'll have to wait until then to see what the new model looks like. Unlike the MKX, which is based off the Ford Edge, we would expect there to be a lot more differentiation between the MKC and the Escape like Ford managed to do with the newest Fusion and MKZ.
In addition to the new MKC, the article states new MKS and Navigator designs are expected to debut by 2014.

Lincoln MKX Concept goes for the gold in Beijing

Sun, 20 Apr 2014 13:20:00 EST

We've now seen the Lincoln MKX Concept in the metal, and we've shot it with the lenses of our own DSLR cameras. And we have to say, our opinion of the concept's design language has improved over our initial reaction. Yes, it's clear that this MKX shares its underpinnings with those of the Ford Edge Concept that we saw in LA, but the changes made by Lincoln stylists are a welcome departure from the angular lines of its corporate cousin from The Blue Oval.
We like the subtlety of the MKX Concept's front fascia, and the lighting elements both front and rear lend a luxurious quality to the crossover's typical two-box proportions. When combined with the smaller MKC that was shown in production form late last year, it's clear to see that Lincoln has a specific design direction that at least seems visually capable of setting it apart from the Ford models with which the brand shares its platforms. Here's hoping there are some Lincoln-specific upgrades underhood...
Have a look at our image gallery of live photos from Beijing above, reread the press release below, and feel free to let us know what you think.

Ford issues four recalls covering 163k vehicles

Tue, 19 Aug 2014 16:27:00 EST

Recalls! 2014 will be forever remembered as the year that automakers went recall crazy, with millions and millions of vehicles adding up to crush previous recall records well before the end of the year. Adding to that tally is Ford, which announced a call-back for 163,000 vehicles.
Leading that charge are the 2.0-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder engines of the Ford Focus ST and Ford Escape. 160,000 of the 2013 and 2014 models have bad wiring harnesses that can disrupt the signals traveling to the powertrain control module. That, in turn, could lead to a check engine light, reduced power and stalling. Notably, Ford hasn't recalled any other vehicles that feature the 2.0 EcoBoost, such as the Fusion, Taurus or Explorer.
While the Focus ST and Escape constitute the vast majority of recalled vehicles, they aren't the only problem children in the Ford family. 1,300 Transit passenger vans from model year 2015 were recalled due to brake fluid leaks, while another 600 Transit cargo variants were recalled after Ford discovered the windowless sliding doors could come open in the event of a side-impact crash. Dealers will replace the sealing washers on the passenger variants and add a reinforcement plate on the cargo models, The Detroit News reports.
