I am selling my 1998 Lincoln Town Car Limousine. I have put a lot of money and time into this vehicle. It has a new paint job land new sheet metal rolled along the sides it was done in August of last year ($5,500 but it's Not flawless, the car got keyed a few days later and we have yet to get the scuff marks buffed out or fixed) New tires ($600 3 months old) New dual alternator, two new batteries ($600- done last week), new brakes ($200) New Vinyl Top ($1,000) New A/c Compressor, Condensor and valves ($800) Nice leather interior in great shape, Headliner in excellant condition, Star Gazed Mirrored Ceiling with twinkle lights, working divider and good carpet. There is also a sun roof but we sealed over it when we put the brand new top on (Less then a year old), the sun roof still currently opens and closes just needs the vinyl removed around it. This car drives smooth and is in excellant condition. It does need some minor tlc like there are a couple spots where the car was keyed that need to be buffed out, the windshield has a crack along the dash board area, one of the chrome pieces along the tire area is scuffed up and the headlights are fogged over, they could be replaced. I want to get rid of this car and get something more exotic so I am selling it priced to go!!! I have reciepts for everything. If you have any questions call me (330)389-1887.

Conan O'Brien takes McConaughey's Lincoln ad to its logical conclusion

Thu, 11 Sep 2014

We all had to see this coming. Conan O'Brien has released a parody of Matthew McConaughey's new ads for the 2015 Lincoln MKC and remixed them with lines from one of his most critically acclaimed recent roles.
The now much darker commercial probably isn't how Lincoln would prefer the MKC to be marketed, but really in a few of the actual ads, McConaughey already seems moments away from breaking into a full Rustin Cohle from True Detective impression. The cadence and tone of his voice are just so close to that character, especially in the one where he's talking to the bull standing in the middle of the road. It very nearly verges on parody anyway; Conan is just turning all of this up to 11.
It's a little surprising that the writers didn't dig a little deeper into the McConaughey oeuvre for the parody. Maybe McConaughey could have taken the MKC for a party at the Moon Tower from Dazed and Confused. In any case, it's worth a quick watch, so check it out.

Ford hybrids getting update to improve fuel economy

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

Ford has announced that it is introducing "calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid."
We can speculate that these changes are at least due in part to lawsuits over mileage claims of hybrid vehicles. The automaker is enhancing 2013 models starting in August by raising their electric cruising speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph, optimizing the use of active grille shutters and the climate control system, shortening the engine warm-up period by 50 percent and reducing electric fan speed to minimize the fan's energy consumption.
It bears mentioning that Ford is doing pretty well in the US electrified vehicle market this year. The company claims to have grown its share in the segment by 12 points to 16 percent while taking a high number of Toyota Prius trade-ins in the process. Conversely, Toyota has experienced a five-percent drop in new-Prius sales over the same period. Additionally, Ford states that it has increased its share of the US vehicle market by one percent this year, more than any full-line automaker.

2015 Lincoln Navigator puts on a brave face, offers EcoBoost V6 only

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Lincoln has finally given its SUV a facelift after seven long years.
Seven years is a long time. For the auto industry, though, seven years is an absolute eternity. Most vehicles receive clean-sheet redesigns within the span of seven years, usually getting a facelift of some sort after year three or four. Not Lincoln.
