I have historic 1989 Lincoln Town Car for sale - I have to sell it ASAP, because I'm leaving US in a few weeks.
Car has ~53,000 miles on odometer, driving well. It's a classic, American car, with an old-school, reliable 5.0 liter V8 engine. It gets 22-23mpg on highway and around 19 in the city. Car is registered as a historic vehicle, so doesn't need to be MD inspected. It is one of these classic, luxury cars that they don't do anymore. It could be used as everyday driver, or, with a little bit of care, could make a great showcar, worth a few times more. As for usability - it's big, comfortable, with lots of space in front, in the back and a huge trunk. Mechanic said that it needs new brakes and interior needs some care, as on pictures. AC doesn't work. It's not a perfect car, but for that price you won't find many better ones - as I said I'm selling it cheap because I need to sell it ASAP. Price is $1500 OBO, you can compare it with: http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1989/Lincoln/Town-Car/4-Door-Sedan/Values Car could be seen in Jessup, MD, around halfway between Washington and Baltimore, close to Columbia and Laurel. My phone is 443-eightfiveone-6659, but I prefer mail contact. |

Why Lincoln says it's loving Ellen and Conan MKC ad spoofs [w/videos]
Mon, 13 Oct 2014You would think that commercial being ridiculed across the Internet would be an advertising executive's worst nightmare, but that's not necessarily the case. At least not when it comes to Lincoln and its latest campaign to promote the new MKC.
The campaign features Matthew McConaughey channeling his characters from True Detective and The Lincoln Lawyer, and was quickly spoofed by both Conan O'Brien and Ellen DeGeneres. But instead of shaking their heads in dismay at the comedy talk-show hosts' take on their ad, Lincoln and its advertising firm Hudson Rouge welcome the free publicity.
"We're flattered. Just to get out into the public mind with parodies says you've achieved a certain amount of notoriety," Hudson Rouge CCO Jon Pearce told Automotive News. "It's hard to put a dollar amount on earned media. We couldn't ask for better."
Lincoln's second, more traditional, Super Bowl commercial
Sat, 02 Feb 2013For its second Super Bowl commercial, Lincoln Motor Company has stepped away from the Max Ernst-ian surrealism of the "Steer the Script" spot. No Germans, no turtles, no aliens nor alpacas this time, just a 30-second run through the ways in which Lincoln sees the 2013 MKZ as a rebirth of the brand and everything a luxury consumer would want.
The kind of traditional spot that could run any time of year, the only question we had after watching it was: "Wait - was that... Abraham Lincoln?" Along with the press release from Lincoln, you can view the spot below.
If you want a deeper look and criticism into Lincoln's "Steer The Script," ad, have a read of AOL Autos' column: Lincoln's Super Bowl Ad is a Flop, written by Pete Bigelow.
