1973 Lincoln Continental Coupe West Coast Rust Free Original Unrestored Car on 2040-cars
Round Mountain, California, United States
Rarely seen unrestored original 1973 Lincoln Continental Coupe with factory copper moon dust paint. This is a 100% rust free west coast car with original powerhouse 460 and C6 transmission. They only made a limited run of these coupes in 1973. The car runs and drives as it should and the engine does not smoke. Mufflers were recently replaced with Thrush mufflers. The body is really straight. There was an older repair job on the right rear quarter panel where the filler is now cracking as seen in photos. No other body work areas.
The interior is also original. The headliner is really nice condition, the dash pad is cracked, the front seat has the typical leather wear spider-like pattern where the white leather dye has worn off but no holes or rips. The back seat is in really nice condition. Window motors run but the windows typically get stuck in the open or closed position. AC blows cold air. The top is in fine shape except for the area below the rear window where it is peeling. A whole new top is $150 from Insanetiques There is no rust under the top whatsoever. Great oil pressure and the gage works as does the temp gage. Fuel gage works off and on. Car always starts right up and runs really strong. So strong that I once considered putting the engine and trans in a hot rod but this car is too nice to be a donor. But the reserve price is right if that's what you have in mind. This a a 100% rust free, solid, original coupe that you don't see that often. The title is clear and in my name. My reserve is very reasonable, if you'd like to know what it is, have questions or want to make me an offer just send an email. |

Lincoln poised to double MKZ Hybrid production
Thu, 18 Jul 2013The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid has been something of a hit for Ford since the beginning, exceeding the company's modest projected 15-percent take rate for more than two years (we say "modest" because that still means an overwhelming majority of Lincoln customers are passing up on the gas-electric powertrain even though it costs the same as the standard model). Either way, Lincoln builds 700 MKZ Hybrids at its plant in Mexico each month, but has sold 715 of them in each of the past three months. That's why, according to a report in The Detroit News, when the restyled 2014 MKZ Hybrid arrives (non-hybrid pictured), Ford is doubling production compared to 2013. Instead of the hybrid model being 20 percent of production, the new hybrid will make up 40 percent.
Ford is doing well with hybrids in general - its portion of the electrified vehicle segment jumping 12 points in a single year to 16 percent. Assuming Ford doesn't change the pricing strategy (along with the changes Ford is making to calibration to improve fuel economy), the sedan could continue to "[show] other luxury hybrids how it's done" when it goes on sale later this year.
Ford announces bevy of recalls, 2 of which are recalls on recalls
Tue, 04 Nov 2014
Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
Lincoln MKC configurator comes alive
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Lincoln has already announced most of the trim level and option pricing for its upcoming 2015 MKC due out this summer, and now it has launched a configurator allowing prospective buyers to get a better idea of how this new model will stack up against other compact luxury crossovers. We already knew that the MKC will have a starting price of $33,995, but now we know that its price includes a destination charge of $895.
Models equipped with the base 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine come standard with the Premiere package - $33,100 for front-wheel drive and $35,595 for all-wheel drive. Both models offer equipment upgrades from the Select and Reserve packages. The $3,230 Select package adds features like leather seats, power passenger seat, folding and heated door mirrors and painted 18-inch wheels, while the pricier $6,935 Reserve package adds in heated and cooled front seats, panoramic roof, hands-free liftgate, two-tone wheels and an embedded modem (providing features such as remote lock and unlock, vehicle finder and pre-conditioning).
Opting for the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline-four raises the base price to $39,965, and it comes standard with all-wheel drive and all of the equipment in the Select package; the Reserve package is still optional. All models can be further optioned up with the $2,235 Technology Package (adding adaptive cruise, active park assist and lane keeping system) and the $580 Climate Package (heated rear seats and steering wheel, auto high beams and rain-sensing wipers). Checking all the options, a fully loaded 2015 MKC with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost will have a total MSRP of $47,715.
