1967 Lincoln Continental Convertible on 2040-cars
Melbourne, Florida, United States
If you are looking for a gorgeous, rare and unique collector Lincoln convertible this is it with it's new Teal paint and new leather Aqua/White interior. This is 1 of only 9 built that had this combination of Teal paint exterior and Aqua interior which is very striking and beautiful. We've had so many people mention how much they love the color. This car is also loaded with options including the rare one year only option of power passenger headrest and reclining seat (see picture)...very cool! It also has the Town & Country AM/FM radio with the floor foot pedal for station seek. Another fun and cool feature that everyone loves which was not an original option is the period correct Sears CB Radio that actually works which is mounted in the front center (see picture). This is where the optional 8 Track mounts but was removed to accommodate the CB. I have the original 8 track with some tapes that go with the car(see picture). The detailed information on this car came from the Marti Report which I purchased. This is a report from actual Ford records that will come with the car (see picture) and goes into production detail. It also says it was sold on New Year's 1966. Below is a list of some of the options:
There is also chrome side molding that I was told was a rare dealer option. Below is a list of some of the thousands of $ of work that has been done to make this a reliable driving and fun collectible. Almost all of this work within the last year.
This beauty starts right up and runs great. Transmission works properly as do the brakes. The top goes through all of it's functions properly and both the inside top switch and outside rear top switch will operate the new top up and down. All of the windows work. I also had the rear window drop-down function fixed on both sides. This function actuates when either of the rear doors are opened and is important to the top, doors and windows working correctly. I have video of the rear windows properly dropping down as well as video of the top working which is on you tube but not allowed on ebay. Please let me know if you would like to see them. Mileage says around 40,000. but I cannot verify if accurate or not. Another extremely important consideration in purchasing a 60s Lincoln convertible is whether or not it has any rust. Most I looked at did in fact have several areas of rust which is extremely expensive to fix. This however is a clean Florida car. Look at the pictures showing the entire bottom of the car...solid...solid...solid! Again just about everything works on this car. There is a crack in the dash by the speaker which is true of most of these. The chrome is driver quality and the stainless trim in good condition. Most of the rubber is decent and have new trunk seal and bumper to body seal that go with the car. I would rate this car as a higher end driver but has additional added value with it's special uniqueness and the fact that it is loaded with almost every option available. This one is a real attention getter with people wanting to take pictures constantly. The value of this car is estimated around the $30,000. range according to a Lincoln expert that looked at it for me. My reserve is very much lower than that as I need to sell at this time. The 1967 was the last year for the convertible Lincoln and the 67's of which only a little over 2,700 were built has led to these jumping in value over the last few years according to the Haggerty Report and others.. These have a lot more options than earlier models and the preferable glass rear window. Also included is an original color sales brochure, original owners manual and shop manual (see picture) and the original build sheet that was behind the back seat (see picture). *Please feel free to email with questions and to setup an inspection of the car. Inspections must take place before bidding not after. If you do not personally inspect the car or have someone inspect it on your behalf then you must agree to positive feedback. I say this because although I try to disclose everything to my knowledge concerning condition of the car my opinion may differ from yours on certain issues. If you do not perform due diligence on this or any other vehicle then it would be totally unfair for you to leave negative feedback and ruin my rating because you disagree with something you should have been aware of before your purchase by having it inspected to your satisfaction or not. If you are a serious bidder I will send you my phone number to answer any other questions you may have. TERMS: I have the right to cancel any bids with fewer than 10 feedback's. If you do please contact me so I can do my best to determine if you are a serious bidder. Upon meeting the reserve, bidders must contact me by message or phone and demonstrate a serious intent to purchase. If I don't hear from you within a 12 hour period from your bid then I reserve the right to cancel your bid. Please do not bid at all unless you are a serious buyer with the wherewithal to complete the deal. All sales are final. The vehicle is sold as is, where is! Car is advertised locally and I reserve the right to close auction down at any time. This car will not be released until all funds are cleared. Deposits are not refundable. Overseas bidders are welcome....I will help the transport truck load your car.

Conan O'Brien takes McConaughey's Lincoln ad to its logical conclusion
Thu, 11 Sep 2014We all had to see this coming. Conan O'Brien has released a parody of Matthew McConaughey's new ads for the 2015 Lincoln MKC and remixed them with lines from one of his most critically acclaimed recent roles.
The now much darker commercial probably isn't how Lincoln would prefer the MKC to be marketed, but really in a few of the actual ads, McConaughey already seems moments away from breaking into a full Rustin Cohle from True Detective impression. The cadence and tone of his voice are just so close to that character, especially in the one where he's talking to the bull standing in the middle of the road. It very nearly verges on parody anyway; Conan is just turning all of this up to 11.
It's a little surprising that the writers didn't dig a little deeper into the McConaughey oeuvre for the parody. Maybe McConaughey could have taken the MKC for a party at the Moon Tower from Dazed and Confused. In any case, it's worth a quick watch, so check it out.
Lincoln reveals MKC compact crossover ahead of LA debut [w/video]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013It used to be that if you wanted a luxury SUV, you had to go big. Just look at the first high-riders released by some of the major luxury automakers - Audi Q7, Cadillac Escalade, Lexus LX - and you'll see what we mean. But since 2009 the small premium crossover segment has grown a whopping 200 percent, so it's no surprise that each has followed up with smaller luxury crossovers. And this is the latest.
At the other end of the utility spectrum from the Navigator, the new Lincoln MKC is based on the Ford Escape (much as the old pseudo-premium Mercury Mariner was), but completely rebodied and luxed up to put it in another league. Although we're still not sold on Lincoln's family fascia, the grille treatment on the MKC is certainly one of the better variations on the theme to date. The Dart-like rear lights dominate the wrap-around tailgate, and the overall shape looks taut and upscale. The same can be said of the dynamically-designed interior, taking the concept revealed in Detroit earlier this year to production fairly seamlessly.
Power will come from a choice of EcoBoost four-cylinder engines with turbocharging and direct injection: a 2.0-liter with 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, or a slightly punchier new 2.3-liter with 275 hp and 300 lb-ft. Lincoln didn't disclose what transmission they'll be mated to, but did note that the MKC carries the brand's "signature" push-button gear shifter. It comes standard in front drive, but buyers who upgrade to all-wheel drive (or tick the right box) will also benefit from a new adaptive suspension Lincoln calls Continuously Controlled Damping. Other features include an approach-detection system that lights the car up and projects a Lincoln "welcome mat" on the pavement when you get close to the car, and a "bread-crumbing" feature that lets you track where your vehicle has been.
2002 Lincoln Continental concept should've made production, headed for auction instead
Fri, 26 Sep 2014It seems like the retro design aesthetic in autos might be petering out, with even a former poster child like the Ford Mustang taking a step in a more modern direction. Sometimes those updates of old-school models really worked well, though. Just take a look above at the Lincoln Continental concept from 2002 that took the extruded shape of the 1960s version and updated it for the new millennium.
Now there's a chance for this gorgeous concept to take a spot in your garage, as RM Auctions is selling it as part of a 130-plus-car, no-reserve auction of the Sam Pack Collection on November 14 and 15, in Dallas, TX. Among the lots for sale are a number of Fords, including several recent concepts from the brand. "My collecting philosophy is simple: buy what I like, but always with an emphasis on quality," Pack said in the auction announcement.
The Continental concept absolutely nails the mix of modern and retro. Its perfectly crisp lines make the shape appear hewn from a single piece of metal, and there's just the slightest ornamentation with the angled, chrome slats in the grille and chrome strips over the wheel arches. It even retains the suicide doors from its inspiration.
