This auction is for a 1948 Lincoln Continental convertible project car. The body on the car is quite solid . Frame and under carriage solid also. Apparently prior owner was attempting a full frame off restoration and got side tracked . A good friend of mine purchased the car as you see it now. Most of the body parts were bolted in place for transportation. Nothing is lined up properly as it would need to come apart to be done correctly. For the most part the body looks pretty decent. You can make out some weld lines where partial floor  panels were replaced and there is still a few small perforated spots that need attention in the trunk well. I beleive we have 99% of all items that were removed but there could be a few missing pieces. It appears that all the chrome was redone . Includeing bumpers , grills headlight bezels, tail light bezels, top irons, and all the small pieces for the dash. Some of it is installed on the car and the rest is in containers in the trunk. There are other parts also such as dash panel, new carpeting, fuel tank, radiator, door glass and regulators. The original over drive trans , interior panels front and rear, tail lights , gauges, rocker moldings, top pistons and so on. We do not have the V-12 motor. Appears all the brakes were redone and new wide white wall tires installed. Have all the hub caps also and there emblems. This would be an excellant car to restore or hotrod . If you just needed the chrome for your car imagine what it would cost. Plenty of opportunity here. If you need a title in your state we are willing to register the car and with that and our dealer paper work you will have no problem. Car can stay here for a while until you get a shipper as long as it is paid for in advance. We require a $500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auctions end and the balance due 3 days from auctions end. If you have under 20 feed back please contact us prior to bidding. We just want to make sure everyone is on the same page and intends on following thru with the sale. Lincoln says MKZ supply crisis over

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

After an excessive number of recalls on the 2013 Escape and Fusion, we can't really fault Ford for being a little extra cautious with the launch of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ. Last month, we reported that dealer supply of the car was extremely limited due to more attention being paid to quality checks of cars rolling off the assembly line, which led to a 73-percent drop in MKZ sales from last year on top of a 32-year low in monthly sales for Lincoln in January.
The reason for the delay was that the sedans were being shipped from the Hermosillo, Mexico assembly plant to be inspected even closer at Ford's Flat Rock, Michigan plant before they were able to head to dealers. Things seem to be straightening out for Lincoln and the MKZ's production now, as Automotive News is reporting that supply should be up to a "normal level" by the end of this month.

2015 Lincoln Navigator gets lots of updates, still not all-new [w/video]

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

If there's one brand that could really use some fresh, all-new product, it's Lincoln. The MKC crossover is on the way and looks promising, but the just-revealed 2015 model year update of its fullsize Navigator would appear to stop somewhere short of being "all-new." This, despite replacing a product that's been on the market since 2007. Oh sure, there's a brash new face, complete with the company's love or hate split-wing grille, and the revised rear-end treatment does look better to our eyes (if overly familiar). But in the era of the bold new all-aluminum Ford F-150, the Navigator is still based on the outgoing model's all-steel bones, so it's more of an extensive mid-cycle refresh than a completely new piece.
Unlike the F-150, there's no aluminum suit on this black-tie bruiser
That's a shame, really, because the class the Navigator is playing in features a host of really modern, stylish, luxurious crossovers and sport utilities like the Cadillac Escalade, Land Rover Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and more. Unlike the F-150, there's no aluminum suit on this black-tie bruiser, but that's not to say it isn't bringing some new tech to the table in 2015. Under the hood, for example, is Ford's well-received 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6, putting out "at least" 370 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. That's a solid engine, and should be a whole lot more spunky and efficient than the archaic 5.4-liter Triton V8 currently being employed in the outgoing model.

Lincoln MKC Concept shows real promise [w/video]

Sun, 13 Jan 2013

Ford's efforts to resuscitate its moribund Lincoln luxury brand began in earnest with the introduction of its 2014 MKZ sedan, a model many labeled as the marque's make-or-break offering. Of course, one model does not a comeback make, and with the MKZ just now starting to trickle into dealers, it will be some time before America's jury of consumers comes in with their judgment. More to the point, it's likely to take better than a decade's worth of products and sustained marketing effort to even begin to figure out whether Lincoln has a shot at redemption or if it will die of Mercury poisoning. After all, rival General Motors has been pouring resources into Cadillac since the late '90s, and if the sales charts are any guidance, it's still probably too early to declare its rebirth a success.
Certainly, a brand with Ford's resources, free of distractions (read: the now-defunct Premier Auto Group and various other side projects) should be able to successfully market a single luxury brand, particularly one with such a rich - if distant - history. Especially now with the Blue Oval enjoying more consumer goodwill than at any time in recent history. So let's all give Alan Mulally and friends a little room to work, eh?
We can start by focusing on the compact crossover seen before you, the Lincoln MKC Concept. Riding atop the same global C-platform that underpins the Ford C-Max, Escape and Focus, the MKC showcar here presages a production small CUV that will stick its distinctive nose into one of the auto industry's fastest-growing segments.
