I have looked for a long time to find one of these trucks in this condition,i bought it because of it been garage kept and same owner for many years.The bottom line is my 16 year old wrecked his car last friday and this truck sale will pay for it.As you can see the truck is in super nice shape with no dents,damage or rust on the body frame or chaises .A/C, heat , transmission and 4 wheel drive work great,engine runs fine also from what i can tell.( no drips or funny noises ).Even though the truck has 228k on it,you would never know it.Tires and breaks are in great shape so is interior with only 2 bad spots on the drivers seat.For the Bad.I bought this truck with the knowledge that the radiator needs replacing, as it has two leaks which was caused by a faulty thermostat,there is also a dent on the front bumper and the check engine light came on from the radiator when the antifreeze ran low.Well with all that been said the truck will be sold AS IS and should not be driven until radiator is changed to avoid any damage.The reserve will be set low so it will make this truck well worth investing a little time,money,and elbow grease into.Ask all questions b4 auction ends,not afterwards.Bid to win and good luck.There will be a $500 deposit due via paypal or cashiers check within 48hrs of auction ends. TMG still developing Lexus LS Sports 650 [w/video]
Wed, 21 Aug 2013If you're going to make a super sedan, you'd better do it in Germany. That's where Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz do it, along with third parties like Alpina, Brabus and G-Power, among others. Deutschland is the epicenter of the movement, regularly churning out the most powerful four-door rockets in the world. It's also where one of the racing divisions for Toyota has been hard at work on the TMG Sports 650.
Toyota Motorsport GmbH started with a Lexus LS and turned it into a 641-horsepower, twin-turbocharged super sedan it revealed late last year at the Essen Motor Show. But though we haven't heard much about it since then, the team behind Toyota's F1 and Le Mans efforts are apparently still hard at work on the project.
Speaking with Lexus' own UK blog, TMG chief Alastair Moffitt revealed that the project started way back in 2010, shortly after Toyota shut down its F1 program and left the racing team with nothing to do. The 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 was initially producing as much as 800 horsepower, but has since been refined to 650 so that it could theoretically be put into production and onto the road.
Lexus launches supercharged LX 570 in Middle East
Thu, 01 May 2014The Lexus LX SUV is a very muscular, old-school vehicle. Based on the Toyota Land Cruiser, it's still a big, body-on-frame SUV, but inside it offers acres of leather and luxury tech. The brand's Kuwaiti distributor is taking it machismo even further for the local market with the new LX 570 Supercharger.
As the name suggests, the upgraded SUV grafts a supercharger onto the LX 570's 5.7-liter V8 to boost it to 450 horsepower, from 383 hp in the naturally aspirated version in the US (or 362 hp in the standard Kuwaiti version), and it uses the same six-speed automatic as the standard model. To signal the improved strength, much of exterior chrome is replaced with black trim. It also wears special 20-inch wheels and a rear spoiler. The interior is fitted with crimson leather seats and red-accented carpet. It also gets an aluminum sill plate that says "Supercharger." Like the standard Kuwait-spec LX 570, it has two fuel tanks with a total combined capacity of 36.46 gallons, which should help satiate the likely thirsty, forced-induction V8.
The LX 570 Supercharger won't be rumbling down streets outside of the Middle East, though. According to Lexus spokesperson Bill Kwong, this is a project by the distributor in the region. The supercharged engine also has "issues with emissions" in the US, especially in California, he told Autoblog. Too bad, it would be an interesting Range Rover alternative.
