HELLO, IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THIS, YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW THAT THIS IS THE BEST THERE IS. THE LAST YEAR OF THE CLASSIC BODY STYLE BEFORE THE LX GOT UGLY. THE UNMISTAKABLE LOOK OF QUALITY AND LUXURY. THE BLACK PAINT STILL SHINES AND THE TAN INTERIOR IS NEAR NEW. IT HAS ALL OPTIONS EXCEPT REAR DVD. IT RIDES BEAUTIFULLY AND LOOKS TERRIFIC. I PURCHASED IT AS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED LEXUS FROM PRESTIGE LEXUS IN RAMSEY NEW JERSEY. IT HAS BEEN SERVICED THERE EVER SINCE. IT HAS AN EXTENDED 3 YEAR WARRANTY THRU LEXUS. IT ALSO HAS A TIRE AND WHEEL WARRANTY AND A LOST KEY REPLACEMENT POLICY. EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD AND LEXUS SAYS IT NEEDS NOTHING. I HAVE JUST REPLACED THE BATTERY FROM LEXUS. THIS VEHICLE WAS $80,000 NEW AND IT IS EASY TO TELL WHY. THERE ARE SOME ROCK CHIPS, SOME SCRATCHES (SEE PHOTOS). THERE IS NO BODY DAMAGE OR PAINTWORK AND TIRES ARE OK. IT HAS BLUETOOTH, REAR A/C AND HEAT, ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION, A TRAILER HITCH AND THE LIST GOES ON.

Mazda and Lexus crowned with KBB 5-Year Cost To Own awards
Tue, 12 Feb 2013We report on a lot of awards, some of which are given out based on more solid criteria than others. This one, the Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own awards, seems like one that new car shoppers should pay attention to.
The cost of a car goes far beyond what you pay for the actual metal, leather and rubber at the point of purchase. Fuel, insurance, maintenance and repair costs, and the cost of fees from the state and financing will all weigh on your wallet while you own the car. That's not even taking into account the biggest cost: depreciation, or the amount of money you lose based on what your car is worth years from now versus the day you bought it.
KBB tracks these sorts of things, and they've compiled a list of winners for 2013 models. On the brand level, Mazda and Lexus earn the 5-Year Cost to Own award for having the lowest overall projected five-year totals (though, curiously, we note that Mazda and Lexus each had only one segment winner). There are lots of winners for all the various segments, so we'll just pick out a few surprising ones to share and you can view the rest here.
Mercedes, Infiniti, Lexus rank tops with mystery shoppers
Thu, 11 Jul 2013If you want the best experience possible when buying a new car, then you'd better head down to your local Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, or Lexus showroom. According a mystery shopper study conducted by the Pied Piper Prospect Satisfaction Index, those three luxury brands ranked highest among the 33 makes surveyed. The highest scoring mainstream brands included GMC, Hyundai, Kia, and Ford.
The study asked 5,203 mystery shoppers about the tactics used by salespeople during their most recent automotive purchases, and found a few interesting parallels along the way. For example, dealers at Infiniti, Land Rover, and Smart leaned heavily on vehicle walk-arounds with potential customers, while Jaguar, Volvo, and Audi were quick to point out exclusive features.
This study contrasts with a similar study conducted by JD Power in 2012. Its Sales Satisfaction Survey listed Mini as the top scorer, while Pied Piper's mystery shoppers ranked the BMW-owned brand below the industry average. Lexus scored highly on both surveys, as did Infiniti and GMC.
Lexus eschews production in China over quality concerns
Sat, 03 May 2014One of the more popular trends in the auto industry is setting up production operations in China. Mainstream manufacturers like Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen have done it, and even luxury marques like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have or will soon have manufacturing ops in the People's Republic.
One company that isn't building cars in China, though, is Lexus. The Toyota-owned luxury brand still manufactures all of its vehicles in Japan (aside from a few RXs, which are built at a Toyota factory in Canada). According to Tokuo Fukuichi, Lexus just isn't ready to build cars there yet.
"The German Three have a brand image that they have cultivated over the past century in their long history, but Lexus is not in people's minds like that yet," Fukuichi-san told Reuters UK.
