Grove, Oklahoma, United States

Up for auction is my 2007 Lexus LS460 - Silver with gray leather interior with Birdseye maple wood trim. It is loaded with all the 'goodies' including navigation, Mark Levinson sound system, hands free self parking, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, rear camera, Bluetooth and integrated phone directory, assisted parking,  4.6L 8cyl V8 32 valve OHC engine, eight speed automatic transmission (I averaged 24 MPG with this car), leather seats, driver seat memory, heated leather & wood steering wheel, power front seats, heated rear seats, cruise control, audio steering wheel control,   auto park brake release,brake-hill-hold, rear view camera, power glass moon-roof, power windows, power door locks, power exterior mirrors, rear power sunshade, parking  sensors, front and side air bags, Xenon HID headlights, fog lights, tire pressure sensors, 18 Inch Alloy Wheels with four new top of the line Michelin Pilot HX/MXM tires installed at 70k miles.

Two owner, clear title, smoke free luxury vehicle, used by senior executive, non-smoker, to commute 25 miles to work. Everything is in excellent working condition. There are two nicks in a vinyl trim piece next to the navigation display that were caused when navigation system was replaced last month. Vinyl trim piece is on order and I will offer $300 in cash credit if not fixed by sell date.. New windshield in 2012, new OEM brakes and rotors front and rear at 65K miles. New Michelin tires at 69k miles, new battery last fall. Always serviced in accordance with Lexus recommendations.

The overall condition is excellent but there some small paint dings and scratches that come with 75,000 miles of use. I have tried to document any known imperfections with pictures, but they are small and hard to photograph. I am one of those anal types that always parks in the far back to avoid door dings, but I can't seem to dodge the small rock chips.

Buyer is responsible for pickup but I can work with the buyer if they live between Tulsa Oklahoma and Columbia SC  as I will be headed to South Carolina in late September. (Little Rock, Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta corridor)

Vehicle is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to terminate the auction if I receive a reasonable local offer

Lexus, Mazda win KBB 5-Year Cost To Own Awards

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

We focus a lot on what new cars are like to drive, but it's difficult on a one-week loan to really get a sense of what a car is like to live with. Sure, we try to recreate that sense with our long-term vehicles, but even after a year, it's impossible to know fully learn about a car, particularly in terms of reliability and cost of repairs. For 2014 model year vehicles, Kelley Blue Book has put together a list of the most affordable vehicles over a five-year period.
At the tippy top of the list are Mazda and Lexus, with the Zoom-Zoom automaker winning the award for best non-luxury brand. Lexus, meanwhile, was the most affordable luxury marque over a five-year period. It's interesting to note, though, that not a single Mazda won its segment in this year's awards.
General Motors did quite well, taking eight segments, including both the subcompact and plug-in segments, with the gas-powered Chevrolet Spark and Spark EV. The Chevy Camaro SS and ZL1 took the high-performance car award. Toyota was well represented, with five winners split between the main brand (Corolla, Prius C and Tacoma) and Lexus (LS and RX).

Next-gen Lexus IS design revealed to be swoopiest yet

Wed, 09 Jan 2013

We drove it while it was covered in cloth and vinyl not long ago, but before the 2014 Lexus IS350 F-Sport gets revealed at the Detroit Auto Show and we find out everything about it, Lexus has graced us with images. In addition to the spindle grille - with an elevated waistline on the F-Sport - the coming IS gets a jagged set of dual-beam headlights with L-shaped DRLs that are, for the first time on a Lexus, separate from the main units. Further back, the side sills get a twist and intense sculpting throughout the length of the longer wheelbase.
Inside is an LFA-inspired cockpit with thinner sport seats and more room in just about every area, the moving "driver's meter" in the dash cluster, electrostatic controls for cabin temperature control, 60/40 folding rear seats and "metal film 3-D-effect ornamentation."
The F-Sport package will be available on the IS250, IS350, IS300h equipped with Lexus Hybrid Drive. The hybrid will not come to the US.

Mazda and Lexus crowned with KBB 5-Year Cost To Own awards

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

We report on a lot of awards, some of which are given out based on more solid criteria than others. This one, the Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own awards, seems like one that new car shoppers should pay attention to.
The cost of a car goes far beyond what you pay for the actual metal, leather and rubber at the point of purchase. Fuel, insurance, maintenance and repair costs, and the cost of fees from the state and financing will all weigh on your wallet while you own the car. That's not even taking into account the biggest cost: depreciation, or the amount of money you lose based on what your car is worth years from now versus the day you bought it.
KBB tracks these sorts of things, and they've compiled a list of winners for 2013 models. On the brand level, Mazda and Lexus earn the 5-Year Cost to Own award for having the lowest overall projected five-year totals (though, curiously, we note that Mazda and Lexus each had only one segment winner). There are lots of winners for all the various segments, so we'll just pick out a few surprising ones to share and you can view the rest here.
