UP FOR SALE IS MY 2005 LEXUS LS430 THAT HAS BEEN THE BEST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED (I'VE OWNED ABOUT 10 CARS).  THE ONLY REASON I'M SELLING IS TO PAY OFF MY 25% APR CREDIT CARDS TO EXPAND MY BUSINESS.  TRY HAVING A LUXURY CAR THAT DOESN'T BREAK THE BANK WITH EXPENCES LIKE AUDI AND BMW'S.  AT 55MPH I GET AROUND 34MPG!   I HAVE DRIVIN THIS CAR 50K MILES THE PAST 3 YEARS AND HAD NO MAJOR PROBLEMS. THIS HAS BEEN A FLORIDA CAR ALL IT'S LIFE, NO SNOW OR SALT ROADS!

- ALL BRAKES AND ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACES 1K MILES AGO

- THE FRONT STRUTS WERE ALSO REPLACE AT THE SAME TIME WITH MONROE PARTS.

- OIL CHANGED EVERY 3K MILES EVEN THOUGH LEXUS CALL FOR 5K INTERVALS

- ONLY 93 OCTANE FUEL USED EVER!

- TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED ON TIME, TRANSMISSION FILTER AND FLUID CHANGED AT 97K MILES.

- I WASH AND WAX THIS CAR OFTEN AND IT'S BEEN PROFESSIONALY DETAILED BEFORE LISTING.

- NEW FLOOR MATS JUST PURCHASED

- I WOULD NOT HAVE ANY FEARS DRIVING THIS CAR 2000 MILES TOMORROW.  GO ON A LEXUS FORUM AND LISTEN TO THE OTHER OWNERS THAT PREACH EVERYTHING THAT I JUST SAID.  SOME SAY THAT LEXUS'S PRODUCTION WAS AT IT'S HEIGHT OF QUALITY 2000-2006.

THIS CAR IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION FOR THE MILES.  IT SHOWS VERY WELL AND I GET COMPLIMENTS ALL THE TIME.  I DIDN'T DOCTOR UP THE PICTURES AND TRY TO HIDE ANY DEFECTS.  I TOOK CHEAP IPHONE PICS WITH CLOUDS AND OVERCAST.  I WOULD RATHER UNDER PROMISE AND OVER DELIVER.  YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED WHEN YOU SEE IN PERSON.  SEND ME ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.  COME SEE IN PERSON BEFORE YOU PURCHASE IF YOU WANT!

Lexus' LFA Works now making carbon fiber bicycles... kind of

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

The LFA Works that produced the Lexus LFA hasn't had too much to do since the 500th example of the V10 supercar left the plant on December 15, 2012. So what are a bunch of carbon fiber experts meant to do with their time when they have some of the world's most advanced CFRP machinery but no engine to wrap it with? Why, make a bicycle, of course - and not just any bicycle, but the kind that costs one million Japanese yen ($10,000 US) and of which only 100 will be made.
Only they didn't really "make" it - the carbon fiber frame was sourced from Takumi, in Taiwan. On the face of it that's a shame, but it makes sense; when you've got a company like McLaren assisting bike manufacturer Specialized produce a road bike, it's clear that 'pushies' have got so advanced that a company can't just hop in and mold a $10K bike in six months. Beyond that frame it's got a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 group with electronic shifters, and it weighs 15 pounds.
However, the Lexus crafstmen did polish each frame for three hours, and the bike is said to embody the "principles and philosophy" of the supercar, while the brochure for the bike says it represents "a new chapter in Lexus history." That chapter is still all about rarity, though, since there's only one bike headed for Canada and two for the US.

Lexus RC media event in Japan canceled over lack of interest

Fri, 07 Nov 2014

It's a good thing senior editor Seyth Miersma doesn't live in Japan, or he wouldn't have been able to snap a photo like the one you see here, of a fresh-off-the-line Lexus RC F on hand at a first drive for media. That's because Toyota's Japanese arm has outright canceled its RC press launch. Sure, we've heard about events being delayed, but canceled? That's rare. Even worse is the reason: according to Automotive News, the event was nixed due to lack of interest. Wow.
In an email to media, Lexus said the event "has been canceled due to insufficient attendance," according to AN. The News posits that perhaps it would have just been better to hold the event anyway, in an attempt to save face, and that this is another example of the Japanese culture (especially youth) becoming less and less interested in cars. Of course, there's also the thought that local media just didn't want to drive out to Yokohama to drive the RC on a not-so-sexy press launch, which, if you ask us, is an incredibly lame excuse (do your jobs, folks!).
Either way, will this bode well for the Lexus RC's public launch? Will it receive the same lukewarm response when it arrives at Japanese dealers? We'll see.

Lexus LF-C2 Concept teased ahead of LA Auto Show debut

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

Lexus is bringing an appropriate concept to the 2014 LA Auto Show in the form of the topless LF-C2 Concept you see teased above (click on the image to enlarge). We really don't have a lot information on this one as of yet, although we only have just over a week to wait.
We can, however, speculate. Does the LF-C2 preview a convertible LF-LC? Maybe. Could this show off a replacement for the IS Convertible, maybe modeled on a RC coupe with a folding-metal roof? That's also a pretty fair possibility.
Proving that social media reveals have well and truly jumped the shark, Lexus will release further teasers of the LF-C2 during a three-day social media campaign. That'll culminate with its LA Auto Show debut on November 19.
