For sale is my 1990 Land Rover Range Rover Classic (3.9 version) I have kept it clean since I have owned the vehicle, and frequently wash and sweep it out, as well as polish the windows and chrome. It is all the time 4 wheel drive with High and Low range. the transmission is automatic and is in great working order. I recently replaced the transfer case with a newer one which I believe to be a year or two newer, but it has about half as many miles on it as the rest of the vehicle. The service was done through Russ Moore Transmission in Fort Wayne, and an oil change was had a couple thousand miles ago, the next one is at 130,000 miles. As far as the condition, it is great, runs and drives comfortably, looks great, hums like a hummingbird. There are a few minor things that can be fixed but nothing serious, mostly cosmetic wear over the course of 23 years. I have a thermostat to put in for the hot air, the AC unit needs replaced or a belt put on (i'm not 100% sure as i never really used it or looked into it) but it will blow out cool air from outside, and warm air (not hot) to defrost. Other than that, it's been well kept. Got a ding in the back corner as you can see in the picture, someone backed up into me without letting me know, and the seat switch could use knobs and a cover on the fuse box.

I have used this as a daily driver, never taking it off road. I make frequent trips from Fort Wayne to Bloomington and back and have never had a problem, no weird noises. I never pound on it, I have been a pretty calm driver with it. I'm only selling it to pay for college, it is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned and it is my prized gem. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to ask, i'm relatively quick at responding. Thank you for looking in, happy bidding!

Jaguar Land Rover says key models in short supply, some have six-month wait lists

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

Care for a bit more proof that the Jaguar Land Rover portfolio of vehicles is the best it's ever been? Well, the Indian-owned pair of brands saw a record year in 2013, while 2014 has seen a 14-percent increase in sales. The crazy thing is, though, is that figure could be even higher, provided the company had the production capacity.
JLR is running a six-month waiting list on two of its most popular models, the Range Rover Sport (above) and Range Rover. According to Mark White, the company's chief technologist for body engineering, the blame can be placed on the paint shop at the company's Solihull factory, in the UK.
"We will probably max out the paint shop before we max out the body shop. Putting the second body shop in has given us the flexibility to ebb and flow the different models that go through there and meet the capacity demands we've got," White told Automotive News. "However, you always hit a bottleneck somewhere. And the paint shop is probably going to be the next biggest obstacle."

European automakers gear up for Brazilian production

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Brazil is the place to be, apparently. Toyota has been investing in the South American country, as has BMW, which announced a $261 million investment in October 2012, on the heels of an Audi factory announcement in San José Chiapa. The high-end immigration is only set to continue, as Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar-Land Rover have both announced plans to set up manufacturing operations there.
Mercedes is the big news here, as its new facility will see the German manufacturer invest 170-million euros for production of its next-generation C-Class and upcoming GLA-Class. "Brazil is an important future market. With our local production we accept the challenge and take on the competition," noted Andreas Renschler, Management Board member for Production and Procurement at Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans. Production is expected to begin by 2016.
Jaguar-Land Rover, meanwhile, isn't so concrete in its plans. The news of its investment in South America comes from a job posting for a plant quality manager in Brazil that was picked up by the UK's AutoCar. "Portuguese language skills will be definite advantage" for interested candidates, according to the job listing. The want ad follows on the heels of remarks by Jaguar Land Rover's Dr. Ralph Speth, who said there are "very intensive discussions" with Brazil's government. Unlike Mercedes, there's no mention of which vehicles will be produced in South America, although AutoCar thinks the Freelander, sold in the US as the LR2, is a leading contender.

Jaguar SUV mule doing Ring testing in Evoque clothes

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Jaguar has moved its Range Rover Evoque-bodied tests of the production C-X17 Concept from icy streets to the legendary Nürburgring, as work continues on the brand's first SUV.
Really, there's not a great deal of new stuff here. Based on the number plates, this is a different vehicle from the one we saw back in March, which we originally identified as the upcoming replacement for the Land Rover Freelander/LR2. The details, though, appear largely the same. The biggest distinction we can see between the March tests and this are the US-spec headlights, which add amber reflectors at their sides. Based on these shots, it does seem as if the C-X17 should be a fairly poised road vehicle, as the engineers hustle it around the 'Ring.
Of course, as soon our spies can capture images of a production-bodied C-X17, we'll be sure to pass those on to you. Until then, take a look up top for images of the Range Rover-bodied Jaguar as it tests at Germany's Nürburgring. You can also scroll down for our March images for the C-X17 mules testing on public roads.
