2003 Land Rover Discovery HSE7 4WD

This 2003 Land Rover Discovery HSE7 4WD has 136,562 miles on it. We bought it in September 2012 and since then have put a new radiator in the engine, replaced the lower radiator hoses, put new brakes and rotors on the rear tires, and replaced the valve cover gaskets on the engine. Total spent from October 2012 to February 2013 was $2,037.45. We also added a new battery in June.

Our mechanic said that the eighth cylinder has no compression so the engine needs an overhaul...either a new engine or a rebuilt engine.

The Land Rover is in excellent condition everywhere else. The leather is in great shape, it's clean, has two jump seats in the back that fold down and to the side. The second row folds down so you can haul things around. It's got power everything: seats, windows, heated seats, Harmon Kardon sound system, navigation, and has cold AC and AC vents in the second and third rows. It features huge cup holders which I loved, a middle cup older in the second row that folds up for a third seat if needed, and it has the full tow package. Another cool feature of the Disco is the cushioned step on the back of the truck that allows easier access to get in the back for those sitting back there.

It also has two sun roofs that work just fine.

It will start and drive, but it's best not to take it too far due to the engine situation.

Kelly Blue Book lists this vehicle as $9,100 in working condition and $7,700 when it needs mechanical repairs.

Jaguar appoints Joe Eberhardt as North American President

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

Jaguar Land Rover North America has appointed a new president, Joachim Eberhardt. The German exec, 50, had previously done stints at Chrysler Group, DaimlerChrysler UK, Mercedes-Benz USA and Daimler-Benz.
Eberhardt joins JLR NA in a good, but challenging time for the company. It's fresh off the launch of the Range Rover Sport and Jaguar F-Type, which have been subject to rave reviews, and its overall sales are up 21 percent over 2012. Still, as Automotive News points out, the two manufacturers face a fight to become the equal of A-list competitors like BMW and Mercedes in the eyes of consumers.
"Joe brings a proven industry track record and valuable global leadership experience in luxury sales, service and marketing. We look forward to Joe leading our North American team in working with our retail networks to further grow the business and better serve our customers," JLR's group sales operations director, Andy Goss, said.

Jaguar and Land Rover to consolidate dealerships

Thu, 29 Nov 2012

Jaguar and Land Rover are set to merge their sales facilities, according to Inside Line. Jaguar Land Rover North America President Andy Gross says 45 percent of Jaguar owners also have an SUV in their stable, so it makes sense to give customers as much exposure to the cat's high-riding cousins and possible. The number of overall outlets will remain the same, and the brands will reportedly remain separate on the showroom floor, however.
So far, just one dealer has made the move to combine under the roof of one 68,000 square-foot facility in Paramus, New Jersey (above), though a further 20 are ready to make the shift and become Jaguar Land Rover outlets. Gross believes the shift is necessary so that his company's dealer network will accurately reflect the company's products. We'll see how cozy the brands are when Jaguar starts rolling out its own SUVs in a few years.
