Land Rover 109 Stage 1 V8 Station Wagon Original Barn Find on 2040-cars
Bradenton, Florida, United States
Land Rover 109 stage 1 v8 station wagon This is a barn find land rover stage 1 v8 station wagon that's very rare, it's in fantastic condition for being a 1983 and only has 90k on the clock, it's all original never been restored. There is minor surface rust as to be expected underneath please see the pictures. I had planned to do a nut and bolt rebuild on this 109 as it's so rare and is a appreciating classic, but due to other projects and lack of space it has to go, it's a perfect candidate to do a restore or to just use and enjoy. Before listing, I fitted new spark plugs, new HT leads, Dist cap and new battery, I also put a new exhaust and overhauled the brakes it fires right up and runs and drives and brakes perfectly, All the lights are working. The vehicle currently hasn't been registered but it's a very simple process and I have all the paperwork to do so. I also have all the import paperwork proving it's legally allowed to be in the states and is allowed to remain here permanently, it's EPA and DOT exempt being over 25 years old. Ebay won't let me input the UK vin "SALLBCMV1BA178893" The investment programme also produced the 5 door Range Rover, and culminated in the replacement of the Series III Land Rovers by the coil-sprung 110" and 90" Land Rovers in 1983 and 1984 respectively. The Stage 1 introduced some new features which would be carried forward to the 90/110 range. Permanent four wheel drive - most previous series models had selectable 2 or 4 wheel drive. The radiator was moved forwards which gave us the flat fronted appearance still seen on the Defender. The bonnet was llonger than the 'standard' Series IIIs, rounded at the front and wrapping around at the leading edge. The door locks are mounted in the door skin rather than in the handle aperture (also carried on to military Defenders)." |

Jaguar Land Rover says key models in short supply, some have six-month wait lists
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Care for a bit more proof that the Jaguar Land Rover portfolio of vehicles is the best it's ever been? Well, the Indian-owned pair of brands saw a record year in 2013, while 2014 has seen a 14-percent increase in sales. The crazy thing is, though, is that figure could be even higher, provided the company had the production capacity.
JLR is running a six-month waiting list on two of its most popular models, the Range Rover Sport (above) and Range Rover. According to Mark White, the company's chief technologist for body engineering, the blame can be placed on the paint shop at the company's Solihull factory, in the UK.
"We will probably max out the paint shop before we max out the body shop. Putting the second body shop in has given us the flexibility to ebb and flow the different models that go through there and meet the capacity demands we've got," White told Automotive News. "However, you always hit a bottleneck somewhere. And the paint shop is probably going to be the next biggest obstacle."
Jaguar SUV mule doing Ring testing in Evoque clothes
Mon, 28 Apr 2014Jaguar has moved its Range Rover Evoque-bodied tests of the production C-X17 Concept from icy streets to the legendary Nürburgring, as work continues on the brand's first SUV.
Really, there's not a great deal of new stuff here. Based on the number plates, this is a different vehicle from the one we saw back in March, which we originally identified as the upcoming replacement for the Land Rover Freelander/LR2. The details, though, appear largely the same. The biggest distinction we can see between the March tests and this are the US-spec headlights, which add amber reflectors at their sides. Based on these shots, it does seem as if the C-X17 should be a fairly poised road vehicle, as the engineers hustle it around the 'Ring.
Of course, as soon our spies can capture images of a production-bodied C-X17, we'll be sure to pass those on to you. Until then, take a look up top for images of the Range Rover-bodied Jaguar as it tests at Germany's Nürburgring. You can also scroll down for our March images for the C-X17 mules testing on public roads.
Ferrari exec to lead Jaguar North America
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Jaguar has announced that Jeff Curry will be serving as the brand's new North American vice president, effective August 13. The move is a coup for Jag, which lured Curry away from his previous posting as VP of marketing for Ferrari North America, and is further evidence of just how strong Jaguar's comeback has gotten.
Curry has spent over 20 years in the auto industry, and has worked with Audi, SiriusXM and Land Rover, where he made his start in the industry. His primary responsibilities with Jaguar will cover marketing communications, customer relationship management, and product planning.
Jaguar Land Rover's North American president, Andy Goss, heaped praise on the brand's newest addition saying, "Jeff brings with him extensive automotive and luxury marketing experience, critical expertise in leading-edge technologies and a personal passion for automobiles."
