1983 Land Rover Defender 110 for sale...

Wow, just checked the prices for these type of trucks and hopefully mine will sell quickly because Im below the current market value and way below 20K. RHD..No ac.. All pictures were taken just yesterday and i apologize for the driveway and beach shots..just wasn't sure where to take the pics..Located in Tampa, florida..This truck has been here for over 6 years with the proper maintenance always being performed when needed and driven on a weekly basis. Clear florida title with actual mileage of 120,077. Runs and drives like it should with no issues. New holly carb and lower manifold was installed to improved performance and milage. No leaks what so ever. Power steering works great. Drive train is as smooth as it was from the factory. The frame is in very good shape. As you can see from some of the photos, I took the truck to my mechanic shop for a final inspection and photos of entire frame plus underneath the engine. I am not in the market to hide anything on my truck. The VIN number is stamped on the frame. The frame is solid all the way from front to back. Front disc brakes and rear drums are new. Rear cross member is solid as you can see from pic. Salisbury rear is strong and very capable at 80mph +++. The original 3.5 V8 engine pulls strong and starts at a turn of the key. While getting the manifold replaced the head gaskets were replaced as well. This engine is very reliable and easy to work on changing out spark plugs, cap, water pump..etc...

The interior of the truck is in good shape for the year in my opinion. All seats are present and are not damaged. The headliner is present and not damaged or shagging. Dash is currently functional with no cracks or stains. Looks good to me! All door panels are intact. There is a small hole about a size of a quarter that I recently discovered on the driver side floor foot well. Easily repairable. All window tops including the front and rear are removable for those sunny days. Looks very cool and many people ask questions and take pics while parked on sunday morning reading my morning paper and having coffee at Starbucks.. Sometimes I'll peak over and look at all the customers walk by it and stare inside and out plus take pics with the kids or seniors...I just smile..The exterior of the truck is fantastic with a vivid original paint code, that shines even under the full moon..this truck has not been repainted. Everything on the truck is as original as I would like to see it when it goes to a new home. There is a little bit of fading underneath the gas cap. Beside that the truck has a very straight body and all doors shut smooth and accurately. 16 inch wheels and tires with a spare in the rear. tires are in fair condition.

This truck is solid and ready for travels. Looking for a quick sale and title in hand ready for transfer. Im sure I missed a few things and if you need additional information, please feel free to email.

I reserve the right to keep your deposit if you cancel your transaction..

I maintain the right to end this auction early as i have also listed it elsewhere.

Jaguar Land Rover opens first overseas factory in China

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Anyone who's a car fan knows that Jaguar and Land Rover cars and trucks all come from the UK. And while we don't doubt that will remain true for the most part, it won't be an absolute truth for long, as the British automaker has just opened its first factory overseas.
Its new plant in Changshu, China, is the result of a $1.8-billion joint venture between JLR and local automaker Chery. It covers some 4.3-million square feet and will, once at peak capacity, produce 130,000 units specifically for the Chinese market, where JLR sells over 100,000 vehicles each year to make it the company's single largest market worldwide.
Production at what's officially known as the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company will start with the Evoque, of which one in five globally are currently sold in China. Production will eventually encompass three models. We already know that the Discovery Sport will be next, but the third model line has yet to be announced. JLR has confirmed, however, that the Changshu plant will produce unique models and derivatives specifically for the Chinese market, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a long-wheelbase version of the forthcoming XE or next-generation XF assembled there to satisfy local tastes.

Jaguar Land Rover may build factory in Saudi Arabia

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

The Middle East is one of the fastest-growing markets for Land Rover, so it makes sense that the automaker is looking to set up shop in the region. According to Automotive News, Jaguar Land Rover is in talks with the people of Saudi Arabia to build a factory in the country at an expected initial cost of $1.2 billion. Still in the early stage of talks, the proposed facility could start up by 2017 using locally sourced materials such as steel and aluminum.
Such an arrangement could be beneficial for both entities as Saudi Arabia looks to diversify its oil-reliant economy and Land Rover could get local production capacity of around 50,000 units. The report also says that the agreement talks about the possibility for Jaguar models to be built at the same plant further down the road.
This won't be the first vehicle produced in Saudi Arabia - that honor goes to the KSU Gazal-1 - but it will be the first from a major global automaker.

Jaguar Land Rover building new Special Vehicle Operations facility

Sun, 17 Aug 2014

It's only been a couple of months since Jaguar Land Rover announced the formation of its new Special Operations division, and we've already seen a number of vehicles to come out of it. But now the British automaker has announced a new facility that will house its elite skunkworks department.
Set to be built at Prologis Park in Ryton, England, on the outskirts of Coventry, the new Special Vehicle Operations Technical Centre will encompass dedicated production lines, F1-style flexible workshops, a dedicated paint studio and VIP suite for commissioning bespoke projects. JLR will spend some $33 million on the facility that will be home to 150 specialists - 100 of them being new hires.
The first project which the Special Operations division is working on is the F-Type Project 7, but we've already seen more projects in the pipeline - including the upcoming Range Rover Sport SVR - and you can bet there'll be more. The revival of the Lightweight E-Type also falls under Special Operations, but is undertaken by the Jaguar Heritage department located nearby at Browns Lane.
