2007 Kia Rondo EX V6 with 258650 miles. This was my sons company car. He's a pharmaceutical sales rep. His territory is the Southeast Hence the high mileage. When they gave him a new company car they offered to let him buy this one. The miles are all HIGHWAY miles. All service has been done by Kia at dealer suggested intervals. I have maintenance records dated since the vehicle was new. It has a brand new transmission, catalytic converter, the timing belt was replaced, and there are 2 new O2 sensors. The exterior is in great shape with very minor flaws. All flaws are in the pictures. Small scratches on the rear bumper, a small dent beside the passenger headlight (There is nothing wrong with the headlight and isn't not effected by the dent), and the last flaw is the small dent is beside the rear taillight (again nothing is effected by the dent). All the lights work, it runs perfect with no lights on the dash. Don't let the miles scare you, this Kia is in amazing mechanical shape. The interior is in great shape. It has tan cloth interior, never smoked in nor any pets with rear AC and Heat vents. The AC blows cold and Heat blows hot. I would not hesitate to drive this Kia across country. I put all the miles on it and am sure you can put that many more on it. It gets greats great gas milage and is extremely spacious. Kia builds one millionth vehicle in the US
Sun, 14 Jul 2013Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG), the plant that produces the Kia Sorento crossover and Optima sedan, celebrated today as a Snow White Pearl 2014 Sorento SXL rolled off the assembly line at the 2,259-acre site, marking the one-millionth Kia to be produced on US soil.
Located in West Point, Georgia, KMMG was Kia Motors America's first manufacturing plant in the US and represented an initial investment of $1 billion. The plant started producing the 2011 Sorento on November 16, 2009 and is responsible for the creation of 11,000 jobs in West Point and the surrounding region. Production of the Optima sedan, Kia's best-selling car in the US for the past 18 months, started at the factory in 2011, and, in 2012, the completion of a $100 million expansion upped annual vehicle production capacity to 360,000.
"Building one million vehicles in less than four years is a tremendous achievement and one that each one of our more than 3,000 team members can take great pride in," said Byung Mo Ahn, Group President and CEO for Kia Motors America and KMMG.
2014 Kia Sorento garners five-star NHTSA rating
Wed, 25 Sep 2013The 2014 Kia Sorento has just earned a five-start crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, as well as a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
According to Kia, the new Sorento scored well in both frontal and side-impact crash tests, while also netting high marks in rollover testing. Orth Hedrick, Kia's American director of product planning said, "Already a compelling entry in the compact CUV category, earning a five-Star rating from NHTSA makes the Sorento an even stronger contender within its segment while underscoring Kia's overall commitment to delivering safety and exceptional value to our customers."
The Sorento joins the Sportage within the Kia range, and the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, Mazda CX-5 and Subaru Forester in netting a five-star score in the small, CUV segment. Take a look below for the official press release from Kia.
Kia GT4 Stinger concept headed for Detroit with 315 rear-drive horsepower
Thu, 02 Jan 2014With reveals expected to include the 2015 Ford F-150, the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the high-strung Lexus RC F performance coupe (among many others), there are plenty of vehicles we're looking forward to seeing at the Detroit Auto Show. But now, with a rendered teaser image and short press release that includes some savory details, Kia may have just hit the top of our list with its GT4 Stinger Concept. Not even looking at the above image (which you can click to enlarge), Kia managed to grab our interest with just one sentence in said release detailing the car's powertrain: "A turbocharged 2.0-liter that pumps 315 horsepower to the rear wheels."
This low, wide concept has the face of a Kia-fied Audi R8, but the previous teaser stated that the concept will be a 2+2 hatchback. There is little other information to go on, but we'll see the concept car live in just 10 days. Until then, scroll down for the brief press release.
