Edelbrock AVS Thunder Series 650 offroad Carb. sitting on top of a 30,200 mile 350 ci LS1, on top of a Edelbrock RPM Performer intake . The engine and tranfer case are the only components that have mileage. Everything else on the jeep is either rebuilt or is new. Only 200 miles. Beefed up 700 R-4 Trany with TCI shifter. New brakes, rotors, and calipers. GMC 1-ton running gears. Interior skin sprayed with lizard skin and painted Camo tan. Swamper TSL's 39.5-15-16.5 on steel wheels. 1-ton steering components. Be cool aluminum radiator, B&M supercooler trany cooler. 7 in. wide fender flares. Painless wiring harness- professionlly wired. 20 gallon Poly fuel cell. Complete, new, heat unit assembly. Electric fuel pump and fan. Factory dash, some of the electric gauges work, others I have installed mechanical. 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Ice skates are spectacular on frozen water, yet they are dreadful everyday footwear. I consider the Jeep Wrangler equally as specialized.
I recently spent a week with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4. Introduced for the 2007 model year, the Wrangler Unlimited is a standard JK two-door with 20.6 inches added to its wheelbase and two additional doors bolted to its passenger compartment. While Jeep offers the Unlimited in seven different trim levels, the desirable Rubicon is the most capable when the pavement ends, as it boasts a slew of hardcore off-road tools including front and rear electronic locking differentials and a front sway bar that can be disengaged at the touch of a button for improved articulation. My I-Look-Like-A-Traffic-Cone test model started with a base price of $34,095 (plus $995 destination). Options including a five-speed automatic transmission, Uconnect, tow package and a premium soft top, drove the bottom line up to $38,630.

Jeep recalls 92k Grand Cherokee SUVs over electrical issue
Thu, 07 Nov 2013According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Chrysler is recalling 91,559 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 2014 model year due to some serious electrical issues. All of the affected models were built between January 8 and August 20, 2013.
The NHTSA report states that, "Due to a disruption of computer communications and loose alternator ground wires, the affected vehicles may experience random illumination of multiple instrument cluster warning lights, loss of cluster illumination and loss of anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) function." The loss of ABS or ESC would greatly reduce a driver's ability to control the vehicle if things get squirrely, and since these failures would not be illuminated on the dashboard display, drivers would not be warned of the issue, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall is expected to kick off sometime this month. Chrysler will notify affected Jeep owners and dealerships "will update the ABS and instrument cluster module software and tighten the alternator ground wire," according to NHTSA.
Jeep Wrangler gets the wide-track treatment
Mon, 07 Jan 2013When we read the tip about a Gulf-state diplomat in Rabat, Morocco who had supposedly "merged two Jeep Wranglers," we figured the two off-roaders were somehow linked front-to-back. Oh no. As you can see in the image above, taken from video of that vehicle actually traveling down the road and needing more than one lane to do it, the two Jeeps were put together side-by-side.
The seriously widebody truck is said to have six wheels, one at each corner and two in the middle. That's about all anyone seems to know about it at the moment, and that's probably enough - in these situations you know better than to ask why, just watch the video below.
