Rare 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited hard top for sale. Great car with new Hankook tires included. Only ever had two owners. No problems in the entire 6 years of ownership.

Great snow car with 4WD! Looking to sell to a good home. Never taken off road, always treated well, super reliable vehicle. 87k miles, just under 10k miles per year. Great mechanical condition, no mechanical issues.
4.0 liter inline 6 cylinder version. Cruise control, airbags, cd stereo. Colorado car; completely rust free, original condition paint. Selling below Blue Book value only because of crack in windshield (not in line of sight), and some dents in the hood. Automatic transmission is nice and tight and shifts smoothly.Never offroaded or abused in anyway. Mileage from highway commuting.

The unlimited model works great because there is additional front and rear legroom, plus additional rear storage space with the longer wheelbase. Not only that, but the longer wheelbase helps highway performance over standard wranglers for improved safety. The TJU also came equipped with better sound proofing so it is quieter inside.

-Hankook All-terrain tires( M+S) within the last year/6k miles

-Weather tek rubber floor mats

-Optional Hardtop ($1600 factory option)

-Headlight/taillight guards

-cd changer

-cruise control

-dual airbags

-automatic transmission, power steering, Air conditioning

-4.0L Inline 6 Engine. Completely stock inside and out.

-New battery within the last two years.

All 5 original wheels included, with minimal rashing.
It is completely stock (besides tires), never modified or off-roaded within our ownership of 60k miles/ 6+ years. Because of this, it has not been abused and it feels great. Engine is in good shape and transmission as well. Probably put in 4WD less than 5 times since ownership.

Because of this, we would not hesitate to take this Jeep anywhere across the country as we know it will get us there.
Interior looks great. Typical use, but no tears, rips, smells, stains, or scratches. All interior works great as we bought it in 2008.
Cleaned, washed, detailed, and waxed, ready for a new owner!
Last year of the TJU/ wrangler unlimited model.

Personal note: This car has never been in any accidents. It is just waiting to be off roaded and to be someone's new enjoyment. I loved driving this car and I love my Jeep. It has been great to me and I never felt unsafe and I never had issues with it. I needed a family car, as I am getting older and planning a family, otherwise I would not be selling it now. It was a great single car and a great time. I fell in love with the car the moment I saw it and just had to buy it. I want it to go to an enthusiast, who will love it and care for it.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns

Thu, 16 Oct 2014

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.

2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Ice skates are spectacular on frozen water, yet they are dreadful everyday footwear. I consider the Jeep Wrangler equally as specialized.
I recently spent a week with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4. Introduced for the 2007 model year, the Wrangler Unlimited is a standard JK two-door with 20.6 inches added to its wheelbase and two additional doors bolted to its passenger compartment. While Jeep offers the Unlimited in seven different trim levels, the desirable Rubicon is the most capable when the pavement ends, as it boasts a slew of hardcore off-road tools including front and rear electronic locking differentials and a front sway bar that can be disengaged at the touch of a button for improved articulation. My I-Look-Like-A-Traffic-Cone test model started with a base price of $34,095 (plus $995 destination). Options including a five-speed automatic transmission, Uconnect, tow package and a premium soft top, drove the bottom line up to $38,630.

Jeep Wrangler's shift to aluminum could see production leave Toledo

Mon, 06 Oct 2014

The Jeep Wrangler may be a timeless design, but sooner or later, time will run out and Chrysler will have to replace it with a newer model more friendly towards the earth it's designed to traverse. That will, it seems, mean a shift to aluminum construction (whether just for the body or for the entire structure) - but what will that mean for the Wrangler's long-time home of Toledo, OH?
According to the latest pronouncements from Fiat Chrysler chief Sergio Marchionne, the shift to an aluminum Wrangler would likely mean moving production out of Toledo. "If the solution is aluminum," Marchionne told Automotive News, "then I think unfortunately Toledo is the wrong place, the wrong setup to try and build a Wrangler, because it requires a complete reconfiguring of the assets that would be cost-prohibitive."
Marchionne also indicated that, were Wrangler production to move elsewhere, it would find another line to take its place in Ohio. "One of the thing that we are dealing with now is what else we do with Toledo that fulfills our commitment to the city and to Ohio. I don't have a doubt that there will be zero impact on head count and employment levels and anything else." Jeep has built the Wrangler in Toledo since World War II, with the exception of six years starting in 1986 when it was built in Brampton, Ontario. The complex dates back to 1910 and currently produces the Wrangler and Cherokee. Past products have included the Wagoneer and Commanche as well as the Dodge Dakota and Nitro.
