Please know first and foremost that this is a PROJECT vehicle and shall be bid on as such. It is a 1977 Jeep Wagoneer, with the original AMC 360ci v8, and motorcraft 2bbl carburetor. The vehicle runs and drives, however it will need to be shipped or towed due to the necessary driving equipment has been removed slince I have begun body work (headlights, grill, bumper, taillights). Things that I have done/replaced: New spark plugs, wires, cap, fuel filter, fuel pump, soft fuel lines, Sky Jacker shocks, brakes (including e-brake), freshly rebuilt carb, headlights, and edlebrock intake. I got the vehicle as a project, intending on turning it into a crawler, however I have lost interest and decided to sell it. When I got her, she didn't run, and adjust a few things while replacing others, she starts right up and runs, but the timing is off a little. She will need a tune up, and we had an issue with it staying running about a month ago, however it turned out the fuel filter was backwards and the idle speed was way too high, adjusted those two things and haven't had that issue since. I have a video of it running and driving, I will try to post it here or may post the link to youtube.

OK so now for the bad: there is no interior; there are the original front seats and dash (with cluster), and handles and window crank, and that's about it. The windows sort of work, and will go up and down but need a complete overhaul. The tailgate won't work, I tried to fix it but cannot find the short that is causing it to not operate. My plan was to remove all doors and tailgate, and rhino line the interior. There is a series of drill holes along both side that the previous owner tried to fill in with bondo, but it isn't working and they will need to be spot welded, or covered with faux wood vinyl. Again this is a PROJECT vehicle.

I do have a secondary dash cluster because the one in the vehicle, only the speedo works. I think the wiring is messed up and just need to be hooked up correctly, but I don't know. The fenders were all trimmed to remove rust and in anticipation of fenders and bigger tires. There are small fluid leaks, a few drops per week. I think it's oil and coolant, but I am not sure. Again PROJECT vehicle. If you are intending on using this as a daily driver, as soon as it shows up, don't bid, she will need work to make you comfortable using it for long distances everyday. I think I have given everything I know about it. However she does run and drive, and was a lot of fun once I got her running, but I don't have the time, knowledge, or money to finish it. The reserve is super low, so enjoy bidding and good luck. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: The next five years

Tue, 06 May 2014

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you've no doubt read about all of the big future product news coming out of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles today. We had individual brand reports from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati and even Ferrari, but in the interest of simplifying and summarizing, we're going to list out the hard facts once more. Of course, with all of this still off in the future, there's still the possibility that a few changes will be made. But as of what we know right now, here's what's coming, and what's going away.

Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.

2014 Jeep Cherokee: June 2014

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

I got a text message from Editor-In-Chief Sharon Carty one afternoon proclaiming that her new favorite SUV is our long-term 2014 Jeep Cherokee. And she's not alone. I'm not sure if anyone else on staff would go so far as to use the "favorite" descriptor, but after just over a month of honeymooning with our new long-termer, it's safe to say that the Jeep is quickly finding its way into the good graces of a number of Autoblog staffers.
There's good reason for all that praise, too. Thus far, the Jeep has proven itself to be incredibly competent and comfortable for daily life - it's functional, quiet, and packed with a host of amenities that make it easy to live with. It's been wholly trouble-free (with less than 4,000 miles on the clock as of this writing, it ought to be), but even nitpicks have been few and far between.
