"Golens"  4.6L 300BHP inline 6 with less than 14,000 miles on this and the following items. Rebuilt OD transmission by "Burcham Racing". " "OX Locker" cable engage front differential. POSI TRAC rear differential Dana 35. True dual exhaust, split 3 tube each manifold. High output intake. "Air Ride 2000", "Ranchero" shocks all 4 wheels. Fuel pump module and filters. Aux. electric fan. " Mean Green" starter and alternator. Leather style seat covers, custom floor mats, black step rails, back up cam. "Daylighter" off road driving lights, aux. fog and driving lights. New headliner. "Weston" pushbar. CD player. Front and rear Reese style hitches. Bug deflector and window drip guards. Additional body cross member braces. The above is in addition to the stock options that came with the Jeep such as AC, airbags, electric windows, door locks, mirrors, rear wipers, cruise, electric OD, rear wiper, overhead console, etc.       I bought this Jeep for the purpose of rebuilding it to ride the beaches and fish at Cape Hatteras, N.C. After the rebuild it was on the beach once and then family matters forced me to move. There is no rust on this jeep at all. In" part time" 4wd with the OX front locked all 4 wheels pull. not one in the front and one in the back like most 4x4's. Unlock the front and put it in "full time" 4wd and 2 wheels in the back and one in the front pull. Good for slick roads. In 2wd you save gas and still have limited slip rear. Put the transfer case in neutral and you can tow this jeep with all 4 wheels on the ground. "Golens" takes a Jeep factory 4.0 and turns it in into a performance 4.6 L with approx. 300BHP. The specs can bee seen on www.golenengineservice.com. It develops 320 lb/ft torque. I have done nothing to the body, paint still shines, but it has dings and paint pits. Never wrecked and no dints. I have over $ 10,000 in the Jeep, the engine alone was over $4,000. I think its a good deal. I'm selling it because I am rebuilding an MG and can use the cash.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT gets power increase, minor tweaks for 2015

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

As a brand within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, SRT may have an uncertain future, but it's pumping out some seriously mean machines anyway. The supercharged Hellcat V8 may be gobbling up most of the headlines with its 707 horsepower, but even the Grand Cherokee SRT is getting some small updates for the 2015 model year.
Most importantly for many enthusiasts, the Grand Cherokee SRT is getting a slight power bump. Don't expect the 700+ hp from the Hellcat, but this SUV sees a modest 5-hp and 5-pound-feet of torque improvement to bring output to 475 hp and 470 lb-ft for its 6.4-liter V8 with an eight-speed automatic. The minor change doesn't change the sprint to 60 miles per hour, clocking in at the same 4.8 seconds, or the tow rating at 7,200 pounds. Still, more grunt is never a bad idea.
Another new addition is the Active Noise Canceling system as a standard feature for this powerful SUV. It adds four microphones around the vehicle and uses the stereo system to nullify extraneous sound. However, Jeep claims that the meaty exhaust note from the V8 still gets through into the cabin for driver enjoyment.

Chrysler recalls 468,700 Jeep Grand Cherokees, Commanders over rollaway risk

Mon, 13 May 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall covering a combined 469,000 units of the 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2006-2010 Jeep Commander (inset). Of that number, 295,000 are in the US, roughly 33,000 in Canada and Mexico and the remainder in other markets. It seems an electrical fault in the transfer case can allow the affected SUVs to shift into neutral on their own, while an Associated Press report says that Chrysler had "found cracks in a circuit board that turns the four-wheel-drive system on and off." The issue was discovered when an owner started his car remotely and it rolled away.
Chrysler is expected to begin notifying owners in June 2013, who can then take their cars to dealers. The dealer will reflash the final drive controller free of charge. There's a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with more information.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and SRT climb onto stage

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

This is indeed a case of not knowing how much we wanted something until it arrived. We've been big fans of the Jeep Grand Cherokee ever since the new model arrived a couple of years ago, and while the update you see here might seem just a slight refresh, it's actually much more than that.
For starters, the 2014 Grand Cherokee marks the return of a diesel model here in the States, with Chrysler's new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 under the hood, churning out 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Of course, all of the Grand Cherokee's usual off-road goodies are on hand, with moderate tweaks to make it an even more capable vehicle when the going gets rough. Both the gasoline-fed 3.6-liter V6 and 5.7-liter V8 get the new eight-speed auto, as well.
The high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT also trudges on into the new model year, with very subtle tweaks found underneath the aggressive, slightly redesigned sheetmetal. The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 also gets eight-speed gearing, which Chrysler says will improve not only 0-60 times, but mid-range performance as well. Bring it on, we say.
