This is a cool Jeep that just needs some TLC. I bought it a few months back on Ebay and had intentions of restoring it but have changed my mind. It does run and drive. The motor sounds good and starts easily. I have just installed a new battery. The transmission shifts through all the gears and the clutch works good. I don't think all the lights are working however. Some gauges work others don't. The paint actually shines in areas and in other places is dull and looks to have been touched up. the hood has a pretty good dent in it probably from being leaned against the windshield when open. There is only a small amount of rust on the drivers side just behind the front wheel and the tailgate also has some rust which is very normal for these vehicles. There is no top. You can buy the bows to install a soft top or purchase a hardtop for it. I was going to leave it as is and just drive it on nice days. The tires are older but have decent tread on them. I have only driven it around the neighborhood only because of the lights not all working but is has run and driven just fine. As you can see in the pictures the rear bed has surface rust but is solid otherwise. Vehicle is for sale locally. Please feel free to call with questions. 334-393-8448

Jeep does Renegade Chinese-style with Zi You Xia design concept

Sat, 19 Apr 2014

As we mentioned, Jeep is bringing a quartet of concepts to the Beijing Motor Show this year. Its largest model, the Grand Cherokee, is nowhere to be found, but its smallest is. That, of course, would be the new Renegade, which has been done up as the Zi You Xia design concept.
Taking its name from the Mandarin word (or words) for "rebel," the Zi You Xia takes its inspiration from the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, with a Warm Chocolate Gray paintjob with contrasting dark bronze trim. The roof, grille and mirror caps are color-keyed to match the rest of the exterior, riding on 20-inch alloys in the same dark bronze finish.
Inside it's all Piano Black, Anodized Copper and brown leather with plaid fabric inserts. Scope it out in the high-res image gallery above and the press release below.

Jeep launches new ad with unreleased Michael Jackson track

Fri, 09 May 2014

We've recently heard much about how Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne plans to pump up the volume on Jeep sales, inaugurating new models and global dealerships. But that's the stuff outlined in five-year plans; right now, advertising and special editions are at the fore, and the late Michael Jackson, too. Jeep has begun airing two commercials to push its Altitude Editions, Call of Summer and Lovers of the Game, that feature the song "Love Never Felt So Good" from Jackson's upcoming album of new music.
A little more star power - and timely, too - comes from Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving. While Call of Summer features a few short shots of the former Rookie of the Year and two-time NBA All-Star, Lovers of the Game is all about his white Wrangler Altitude Edition and wrangling shots. You can watch both spots below, and if you want to hear the rest of the music track before the album hits, you can download it from iTunes.

Toledo gets proactive in fight to keep Jeep Wrangler

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Let's make this very plain - the city of Toledo, OH loves its Jeeps. It loves them so fervently that the very rumor of the Jeep Wrangler moving out of its traditional home prompted the city's mayor, D. Michael Collins, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich to hold a weekend conference call with Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne.
"The purpose of this call was for the mayor and governor to gain clarity on Mr. Marchionne's comments last week regarding the possibility of the next generation of Jeep Wrangler being built at a location other than the Toledo North Assembly Plant," a spokesman for the mayor's office told The Toledo Blade.
While no further commitments were made by any party, Collins and Kasich's statement was quite unequivocal about keeping Toledo's unwillingness to let the Wrangler go, saying "the city and its partners will again rise to the occasion to ensure that the new Wrangler is made in Toledo." According to the newspaper, the next step is for face-to-face meetings between officials from Ohio and FCA.
