1967 Jeepster Deluxe Convertible 4x4 With Ultra Rare Power Retractable Top on 2040-cars
San Antonio, Texas, United States
1967 JEEPSTER CONVERTIBLE Here’s your chance to own a rare deluxe Jeepster convertible with the ultra rare “power” retractable top. Willys during the late 40’s introduced the Jeepster, but they were two wheel drive. In 1967, the Kaiser Corporation reintroduced the Jeepster as a four-wheel drive. This example has the fabulous 225 V-6 engine with console shift automatic transmission, bucket seats, rear continental kit style bumper, power brakes, and again the rare power top. This is a life long TEXAS Jeep with very nice original sheet metal, original solid floors, solid rocker panels, body supports etc. There is some minor bubbles under the paint on the passenger side rocker panel. The Jeep was originally red with a White Top. It was painted blue many years ago which looks pretty nice. It’s a nice looking driver as is, but no perfect show truck. The paint shows wear and has small chips and scratches on it. The Jeep has a high dollar Beachwood Canvas top which is in very nice shape. The top frame is very nice. The power top system brings the top up very nicely, going down it needs help. It likely just needs fluid. The seats are pretty nice, but show wear. There are seat belts too. All the lights work, wipers, horn, turn signals, fuel gauge etc. There is a FM/AM CD player with AMP under the drivers seat which sounds good. The tires have good tread but have age. The motor is strong and sounds good and has good power. It should be turned up. It idles a bit rough. The transmission shifts smooth but jumps when placed in drive or reverse from park. I was told the vacuum module on the outside of the transmission needs replacing. The Jeep comes with a fine extra set of rare hubcaps with trim rings. The fog lights were removed and are not included. If you have questions, I have answers, please call Houston Wills at 210-548-1310 between 9am-7pm CST time. The Jeep is located in San Antonio Texas. PAYMENT AND STORAGE A $500 deposit is required from the winning bidder, due electronically via PayPal within 24 hours after the auction ends, to hold the vehicle. I do not accept Paypal for payments over $500. Deposits only. I will not be accepting trades. Respectfully, please bid responsibly by having any required financing in place before committing to purchase the vehicle as full payment is due within 7 days of auction end via cash or certified bank check (drawn on a major US bank). I can hold the vehicle for 15 days at no charge to the winning bidder after the auction (the charge is $15.00 per day after 15 days unless other arrangement made). I apologize in advance, but bidders with zero feedback will have their bids canceled, no matter what the amount, unless you contact me in advance of bidding. Bidders outside North America (anywhere other than the US, Canada, or Mexico “mainland”) are welcome to bid, but also must phone me before bidding. |

2015 Jeep Renegade leaks out ahead of Geneva debut
Mon, 03 Mar 2014Meet the Renegade - Jeep's new baby crossover that's set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week. The folks at Jalopnik got their hands on a small batch of photos of the new little cutie, showing what appears to be a Trailhawk (read: trail-rated) version, as well as a more civilian-spec Renegade, complete with a new removable roof system, reportedly called My Sky.
Details are slim, though in addition to the exterior images, one photo of the interior has also been leaked, showing what appears to be a small, yet functional (and nicely appointed) cabin. Early reports suggested that the new small Jeep would be based on the Fiat 500L platform, though Jalopnik rightly points out that the Renegade looks an awful lot like the Panda 4x4. Regardless, there's still likely some 500L bones under there, and we'll know more once the official details are revealed in the very near future.
Head over to Jalopnik for more shots of the cute little Renegade, and stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
Chrysler reports $166M net income for Q1, down $307M vs. 2012
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Preliminary first-quarter results from 2013 have been announced by Chrysler, and the company is reporting a net income of $166 million on revenue of $15.4 billion. Compared to this period last year, net income is down $307 million and revenue has dropped $1 billion.
Chrysler says that its quarter was negatively affected by the costs associated with launching its 2013 Ram Heavy Duty, 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and preparation for the return of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee pictured above. The launches should provide a strong second half of 2013, says the automaker. "We remain on track to achieve our business targets, even as the first-quarter results were affected by an aggressive product launch schedule," said Chrysler Group LLC Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne.
On a positive note, the automaker says worldwide vehicle sales are up 8 percent from one year ago, a number pushed by a 12 percent bump in U.S. retail sales. In addition, domestic market share has risen slightly, up to 11.4 percent from 11.2 percent last year. Read more in the official statement below.
Jeep Twitter account hacked, bad language, poor grammar and some hilarity ensue
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Just a day after Burger King's Twitter account was compromised by "unauthorized users," Jeep's social media feed has been similarly hacked. Both instances of digital incursion share some similarities - the BK hackers changed the company's logo for McDonald's familiar golden arches, saying a sale had occurred, while the Jeep miscreants have replaced Jeep's branding with that of General Motors property Cadillac.
The resulting tweets from the damaged Jeep account have been a pretty brutal, to put it bluntly. Most of the content coming from the hacked account is unpublishable here, using language that is peppered with racial epithets, and poorly worded "shout outs."
In addition to the defamatory tweets themselves, the hackers have significantly altered the layout of the page. Jeep's header image now features a picture of the Cadillac ATS to go along with the Wreath and Crest, some language calling out that car as winning the 2013 North American Car of the Year award, and this gem: "The official Twitter handle for the Jeep(R) - Just Empty Every Pocket, Sold To Cadillac =[" Also, perhaps in an ode to yesterday's Burger King heist, the background image for the page now features a McDonald's-themed donk. The devil's in the details, we guess.
