1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Trenton, New Jersey, United States
For sale- a good solid 1996 Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep has no serious mechanical problems and is road worthy and ready to drive. 4.0 6 cyl engine with about 183,000 miles on it. These engines can go well over 200,000 miles, and the Aw4 automatic transmission is solid and long lasting. 4x4 works fine. I got this from a friend to sell. I did not go over it with a fine toothed comb, but the only real issue I see is the AC is not cold- may just need some Freon- and the vacuum tank for the vacuum that controls the heat is missing- this is a cheap part that can be easily installed under the front bumper. Rear wiper inop. Tires just fair. Has some rust but not a rust bucket- and one fog light is loose. Look over the pictures. This is a great Jeep for the price- which is CHEAP. If you just need a good solid Jeep for a low price that will not need to go right to the shop to be repaired- this is the one. The 4.0 engine is strong- has a little noise but nothing that needs repairing. Great oil pressure- see picture of dash. Steering is good and nice solid brakes. Shifts well. Inside is clean. Currently insured and registered- and NJ state inspection is good until Feb. /2015- so for NJ drivers that is good news.- If you want to come road test it- that is OK. I am in Hamilton NJ close to Trenton. One mile from exit 62 off I295. Jeep is also for sale locally so if I get a local buyer I will be taking the Jeep off ebay. You can e-mail me with questions. I can send you my phone number if you want to give me a call. Nick

Jeep Cherokee sales rival Wrangler after two months
Sun, 29 Dec 2013In our First Drive article on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee we said, "our informal and thoroughly unscientific opinion is they're going to sell tons of them. Why? Because it is very good." So far, it appears the public concurs. Of course, it's very early - the new compact utility has logged just one month of confirmed sales, but Larry Vellequette at Automotive News says dealers have told him that the second month of sales will be even better, a message that mirrors what we've heard from company execs.
In its first, severely truncated month on sale, the Cherokee sold 579 units. With all of November to play with, though, dealers moved 10,169 of them - compared to 11,753 Wranglers and 14,798 Grand Cherokees. That helped propel Jeep to a 30-percent year-on-year improvement for the month, Chrysler Group to a 16-percent improvement and the group's 44th consecutive month of sales growth, exceeding analyst expectations in posting its best November numbers since 2007.
If it can just keep replicating the its first month of sales, the finalist in North American Truck of the Year voting will smoke the trade done by the outgoing Liberty, which didn't break 7,900 units in a month in the last four years of its life (and normally didn't get close to even that). In March this year, Chrysler said it wants to build 250,000 Cherokees in its Toledo assembly plant for global sales. It's early yet, but with second-month sales quoted as being as "strong as death," the bookies might be resetting the odds.
Jeep Renegade pricing to start at $18,595?
Fri, 14 Mar 2014While there's no shortage of excitement surrounding the new Jeep Renegade, one of the limiting factors to the little trucklet will be its price. With the Kia Soul starting at $14,900 and the Nissan Juke kicking off at $18,990, the Renegade can't afford to stray away from that price bracket.
And judging by some potentially leaked pricing info, it won't. A quick Google search of "Jeep Renegade Price" reveals (at least for now) that the Italian-built Jeep will start at $18,595. The "as shown" price of $25,895 seems to indicate the Trailhawk model shown on Jeep's consumer page.
If the $18,595 figure is correct, it's likely for the base, two-wheel-drive Sport model, with the Latitude and Limited trims falling somewhere between there and the $25,895 as-equipped price of the Trailhawk.
Jeep Wrangler by Vilner takes extreme luxury off-road
Mon, 20 Jan 2014Vilner turned its customary and intensely luxurious attentions to a two-door Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited back in 2012, following that up this year with its take on the four-door version. A coat of lustrous black paint outside is brightened up LED headlights, foglights and taillights and layers of chrome laid on the grille, mirrors, door handles and fuel filler cap.
Stance gets an injection of brawn from the 20-inch wheels, and they'll roll faster thanks to the power upgrade from 197 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque in the 2.8-liter diesel to 257 hp and 412 lb-ft.
Inside is furious red, with cross-stitched crimson leather and Alcantara demanding your focus. When you can look away from that, you'll find the raw metal parts painted black and again ornamented in minor applications of chrome. Feel free to feast on it in the high-res gallery above.
