Kaleva, Michigan, United States

Up for sale is a 2 door Cherokee chief  it is a CLEAN body 2 dr wide trac wagoneer.

jeep has a 258ci 6 cyl, T-177 4 sp manual, NP-208j, 4x4, with 3.31 ratio in wide trac axles

odometer reads 117,XXX

Interior was tore apart by previous owner to replace floor pans, and body mounts (AND interior IS STILL OUT)

Floors were purchased from Z&M, old floor cut out and supports sandblasted, new floors welded in professionally, and then primed with self etching primer and painted. (FLOORS ARE FINISHED)

Seats are great and were professionally re-upholstered, with extra fabric to do custom touchs on door panels and interior

New parts included

2 new front fenders

all new floor pans from Z&M installed

all new daystar body mounts installed

all new premium carpet (new in Box)

All new Seat upholstery (seats not installed in Jeep)

All new Cherokee Chief Decal Kit (new in Box)

Windshield Gasket

A different set of tinted vent side windows (used)

THESE PARTS COST MORE THAN I AM STARTING THE AUCTION AT

boxes and boxes of spare parts are included, extra wiring harness, dash, extra replacement glass for all the rear windows etc

I went all the way around this body with a magnet and could not find a spot where it would not stick. there were some VERY small holes at the base of the "C" pillars, or rear legs of the top that need attention and one spot at the top of the "A" pillar on the drivers side. All spots were sandblasted and are ready for repair.

this has not been driven in years...I was told (13 years) it has been an unfinished project that has went from owner to owner to owner... it was a running driving jeep and should take very little to get this back on the road

only parts that I am aware of that this jeep will need is a new windshield to get it back on the road as a driver... change the fluids and do some minor reassembly and drive it....

and extra good 258 6cyl engine is available for another $250

If your interested in a 2 door wide track waggy, this is a great start to an awesome old classic truck, it is a very solid body with a lot of potential

personally I planned to install a 5.3l v8/4l60e conversion with it.... but I just have to many projects now

FIRST PIC IS WHAT I HAD PLANNED FOR IT!!! it is not the actual jeep

This is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction up to 24 hrs before auction end

Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay

Sat, 23 Mar 2013

A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.

Why Mopar won't release a factory lift kit for the new Jeep Cherokee

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

The Jeep Cherokee Dakar concept showed off at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari made a lot of online friends, even the Cherokee naysayers assenting that there's a monster Jeep underneath the Cherokee's skin if you're willing to go in and get it. But after reading Road & Track's write-up of what went into creating the Dakar, particularly its lift, you'll understand why you'll probably never see the components for it in the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.
The concept's press release mentions a "prototype Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, and additional suspension modifications." The short-story explanation is that the front struts on the standard Cherokee weren't engineered to accept any amount of lift, so the long story begins with the phrase, "an entirely new suspension." Head over to RT to read the details, and don't be afraid to ogle the Cherokee Dakar gallery and another awesome Jeep fancy that won't likely crawl over the hurdles imposed by production reality.

2014 Jeep Cherokee: June 2014

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

I got a text message from Editor-In-Chief Sharon Carty one afternoon proclaiming that her new favorite SUV is our long-term 2014 Jeep Cherokee. And she's not alone. I'm not sure if anyone else on staff would go so far as to use the "favorite" descriptor, but after just over a month of honeymooning with our new long-termer, it's safe to say that the Jeep is quickly finding its way into the good graces of a number of Autoblog staffers.
There's good reason for all that praise, too. Thus far, the Jeep has proven itself to be incredibly competent and comfortable for daily life - it's functional, quiet, and packed with a host of amenities that make it easy to live with. It's been wholly trouble-free (with less than 4,000 miles on the clock as of this writing, it ought to be), but even nitpicks have been few and far between.
