This auction is for a 1979 JeeP cj5, 4x4,
Inline 6, I believe its the 258, with a 3speed manual transmission. I bought this Jeep for my son and it needed a little work on the cosmetics end. But half way through cleaning it up for him, He Bought a Cj7, So I finished what I started and now it is for sale. First thing I had to do was replace floor pans on both sides and on the rear above the tank. The Cab floor pans are steel, molded for the Cj5, the rear was Flat sheet metal, Had a Guy paint it with single stage Orange. I installed Cloth high back seats from a 99 Mustang, They are installed on the Original jeep seat frames, So the passenger seat does lift forward. Some of the New stuff I installed. Tail lights, all 4 marker lights, all 4 skirts, Cowl to windshield seal, Mirrors, Hood Latches, all 6 indicator lights, Glove Box, Stereo, with CD, Sd slot and USB input. Turn signal switch and wiring, Volt Gauge, Speedo Cable, BUT I am still having problems with the speedometer, Bounces or taps out. Valve cover gasket, The Jeep Runs Great, Shifts easy, FAST. Has extended roll bar with side pads Tires are good, 32x11.50R15LT / AT Has Bikini Top, Also comes with if you want it, a Soft top, Its usable But blue and old. also comes with 2 sets of soft doors, 1 set half and 1 set full, Both match the top in color and should be reupholstered. Let's talk asses for a moment. What do they have to do with the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, you ask?
Well, we're here to tell you that this SRT can haul some. Lots of them, as a matter of fact: Jeep has increased the towing capacity of its most powerful SUV to 7,200 pounds. Assuming the average donkey weighs about 400 pounds, the Grand Cherokee SRT can haul ass to the tune of 18 burros, give or take a covered trailer or so, which is significantly more than it could in previous years. In 2013, the machine could manage 5,000 pounds, while the first generation was rated at just 3,500. The increase is mostly attributable to a new eight-speed automatic transmission and beefier rear axle, and it's a welcome update for those who'd like to use their SUV as, well, an SUV with an emphasis on utility.
Jeep recalls 92k Grand Cherokee SUVs over electrical issue
Thu, 07 Nov 2013According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Chrysler is recalling 91,559 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 2014 model year due to some serious electrical issues. All of the affected models were built between January 8 and August 20, 2013.
The NHTSA report states that, "Due to a disruption of computer communications and loose alternator ground wires, the affected vehicles may experience random illumination of multiple instrument cluster warning lights, loss of cluster illumination and loss of anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) function." The loss of ABS or ESC would greatly reduce a driver's ability to control the vehicle if things get squirrely, and since these failures would not be illuminated on the dashboard display, drivers would not be warned of the issue, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall is expected to kick off sometime this month. Chrysler will notify affected Jeep owners and dealerships "will update the ABS and instrument cluster module software and tighten the alternator ground wire," according to NHTSA.
Chrysler recalls 468,700 Jeep Grand Cherokees, Commanders over rollaway risk
Mon, 13 May 2013Chrysler has issued a recall covering a combined 469,000 units of the 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2006-2010 Jeep Commander (inset). Of that number, 295,000 are in the US, roughly 33,000 in Canada and Mexico and the remainder in other markets. It seems an electrical fault in the transfer case can allow the affected SUVs to shift into neutral on their own, while an Associated Press report says that Chrysler had "found cracks in a circuit board that turns the four-wheel-drive system on and off." The issue was discovered when an owner started his car remotely and it rolled away.
Chrysler is expected to begin notifying owners in June 2013, who can then take their cars to dealers. The dealer will reflash the final drive controller free of charge. There's a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with more information.
